A major war is coming up in the One Piece story, and Oda has already teased it on many occasions. This war is planned to happen right after the Elbaf arc, and it couldn’t get more exciting than that. The upcoming One Piece war will be huge, of course, and to win it, Luffy would need powerful allies. Oda has already set up how Luffy will finally meet those allies and fight alongside them.

The Next Arc After Elbaf Could Be Pirate Island
Garp’s Life is In Danger
One of the most exciting parts of the One Piece story is seeing what island the Straw Hat Pirates will sail to next. It’s always a huge change of scenery, and usually, the start of something new.
Currently, the One Piece manga is in its final saga. The Final Saga started with Egghead, and currently, the Straw Hat Pirates are on Elbaf. The Elbaf arc started last year, and it doesn’t seem like it is ending anytime soon. Elbaf will probably take another year or two to conclude. This arc has been a huge source of excitement for the fans, especially with how far it has been talked about, as well as the current events unfolding involving Imu.
Despite how exciting Elbaf is, fans do wonder what is coming next. And while Oda hasn’t exactly confined what arc is next, the best guess for now is an arc that will take place on Pirate Island - the island where Blackbeard is.
This Pirate Island arc will be huge, and fans need to remember that Blackbeard has a very important hostage, Monkey D. Garp. Blackbeard might want to execute Garp as negotiations with the Marines are not going to lead anywhere.
Upon hearing this news, Luffy and others will definitely head there in hopes of saving him. Garp is beloved by many, so a lot of people will show up to save him. An alliance with the Straw Hat Pirates is imminent.
An Unexpected Alliance For The Straw Hat Pirates
The Big Mom Pirates, SWORD, Some Marines, and The Kuja Could Join the Battle
The Pirate Island arc will be huge and it might even be comparable to Marineford, if not even bigger. After all, Garp and Ace will have huge parallels here.
To have a shot at winning this war, the Straw Hat pirates will need some powerful Allies. First off, the Big Mom Pirates will most definitely be on Pirate Island as well, and will ally with the Straw Hat Pirates. The Big Mom pirates are not here for Garp, but for Pudding. Fans who have read the cover pages know that Pudding was kidnapped by Aokiji and Van Augur for her value as a member of the Three-Eyed Tribe. Katakuri is currently the leader of the Big Mom Pirates, as Big Mom’s location and status is unknown. Katakuri has an amicable relationship with Luffy after the conclusion of their battle. Fans could see Luffy and Katakuri fight side by side.
Aside from the Big Mom Pirates, the Kuja could also make their entrance. As fans know, Hancock and her crew have left Amazon Lily in search of Luffy. She would be the perfect ally for Luffy.
One Piece: Oda Has Already Revealed The Characters Who Will Surpass Pirate King Roger
Roger is powerful, but there are a few One Piece characters who will surpass him.
The Straw Hat Pirates could be assisted by Marines. The SWORD group is not technically part of the Marines anymore, so they will definitely come to Garp’s rescue. With Koby, they will be fighting with Luffy to free Garp. This could be a great reunion for Luffy and Koby. Actual Marines could also step in and help, the most notable ones being Sengoku, Tsuru, Smoker, and Tashigi. They’re very old, but they are still quite strong. Gion could also come and she had the potential to be chosen as an Admiral, so she is definitely powerful.
Blackbeard Will Form His Own Alliance
Blackbeard and the Cross Guild Will Ally
While Luffy will be forming many powerful alliances, he might not be the only one doing that. Indeed, Blackbeard and his crew themselves might be forming quite a powerful alliance for this war.
The Cross Guild is currently one of the most dangerous organizations in the New World. After all, they have Dracule Mihawk on their side. The Cross Guild also has Sir Crocodile and other strong fighters. Their alliance with Blackbeard would be major, and would even be the perfect opportunity for Zoro vs Mihawk to happen.
