This article contains spoilers from One Piece's Elbaf Arc.
Summary
- Dorry and Brogy from Elbaf have new bounties of 1.8 billion berries each, surprising fans early on in the Elbaf Arc.
- The Co-captains of the Giant Warrior Pirates are both powerful monsters and leaders deserving of their massive new bounties.
- These legendary Giants from One Piece now have a combined bounty of 3.6 billion berries, surpassing two Emperors in strength.
The Elbaf Arc of One Piece continues with great intensity, and right before the 2-week-long break that Oda announced recently, he dropped an absolutely spectacular chapter full of a ton of information, a proper adventure in the land of the Giants, and, much to the surprise of every reader, two massive new bounties. Fans did not expect new bounties to be revealed so early into the Elbaf arc, but, they are delighted by this major reveal by the author in the opening few chapters of this Arc.
One Piece: Blackbeard's Third Devil Fruit, Explained
Blackbeard is on the hunt for his third and final fruit in One Piece. He is going after a powerful Zoan.
While most fans might assume that this bounty is for some member of the Straw Hat Pirates, they would be mistaken because this bounty has been put on two legendary figures from Elbaf, whom fans are very well familiar with, the Co-captains of the Giant Warrior Pirates, Dorry and Brogy.
The Former Bounties Of Dorry and Brogy
- Dorry And Brogy Were Introduced On Little Garden
- Dorry And Brogy Had A 100 Million Berri Bounty Each
As fans know, Dorry and Brogy were both introduced in the pre-timeskip of One Piece. When the Straw Hat Pirates set foot in the Grand Line, they first went to Whiskey Peak, which was their first proper island. From there onwards, the crew set sail and eventually reached Little Garden, which was revealed to be a prehistoric island. On this island, fans were introduced to the Giant race for the first time. There, Dorry and Brogy were seen embroiled in their century-long battle, then fans also got the context behind this fight. Essentially, the fight between these two powerful pirate captains started simply over a competition to catch the bigger animal. Ever since then, they have been constantly fighting, because of the pride of Elbaf, and they will continue to do so until there is one victor. Dorry and Brogy fought valiantly on Little Garden, despite their weapons being rugged and their strength running low.
The only thing we can't cut is a snake soaked in blood! – Dorry and Brogy
Back then, it was revealed that these two legendary Giants had a bounty of 100 million berries each, which was certainly staggering. At that time, a 100 million berry bounty was certainly massive. However, right now, that bounty looks absolutely insignificant. But, fans need to keep in mind that this bounty was issued around 100 years ago, and back when they might not have been as strong as they are right now.
Furthermore, the fact that they were inactive for very long away from the eyes of the Government might have given them reason enough to believe that their bounties did not need to go up further. 100 million berry Bounty for the two Giants from Elbaf seemed sufficient at the time. Most importantly, 100 Million Berries was quite a lot 100 years ago, and the value would translate to billions in today's time.
The Updated Bounties Of Dorry and Brogy –1.8 Billion Berries
Dorry and Brogy Both Have A 1.8 Billion Bounty
Dorry and Brogy were reintroduced in One Piece in the Final Saga. The first time fans saw them was on Elbaf, around the same time when Shanks departed the country. Kid was seen attacking Elbaf at the same time, and Shanks saw to it that their crew was dismantled. With support from both Dorry and Brogy, the Victoria Punk was sunk and from there onwards, these two were heavily involved in the Egghead arc. It did not take Dorry and Brogy long to arrive in Egghead, where they knew Luffy was fighting. In order to secure the Sun God, they took this massive risk and succeeded.
1.8 billion? We didn't intend to return to the world! – Dorry and Brogy
Dorry and Brogy, along with their pirate crew, decided to take Luffy back to Elbaf. Of course, the pirate crew struggled to make it to Elbaf in One Piece and eventually split up. Now, however, it has been confirmed that Luffy and the others have met once again.
This essentially means the Dorry and Brogy are back into the fold as well, and here, Oda has taken this enormous opportunity to present the new bounties of the Co-captains of the Giant Warrior Pirates. The new bounties were revealed by Oda to be 1.8 billion berries, which is absolutely staggering.
This isn't a surprise to any fan. Dorry and Brogy are two of the strongest characters in One Piece, and their massive bounties are fully deserved. The display they put on in the Egghead arc was absolutely stunning. Not only did they destroy the ship of the Kid Pirates, but later down the line, they also clashed with the Five Elders. Dorry and Brogy held back against quite a few of them, and even managed to push back some others, such as Warcury. For a display such as that one, a 100 million bounty certainly would not have sufficed. This essentially meant that Oda had to update their bounties, and he certainly did that. Now, both Dorry and Brogy have a bounty of 1.8 billion berries on their heads, and fans are absolutely buzzing because of this massive reveal.
One Piece: Garp's Upcoming Death In The Final Saga, Explained
Garp's fate is uncertain in the future of One Piece. He might die in the final saga.
While this bounty in itself is somewhat shocking, what's even more shocking is that this is a bounty put on the Co-captains of the Giant Warrior Pirates. In other words, these two are both captains, which means that the figurehead of the ship has a bounty of 3.6 billion berries, which is absolutely stunning. This bounty puts the head of the Giant Warrior Pirates above two of the four Emperors, and that just goes to show the level of strength this pirate crew possesses.
Why Dorry and Brogy Deserve Their New Bounties
They Are Monsters And Leaders Of Elbaf Giants
Dorry and Brogy absolutely deserve their new bounties, regardless of what fans might think. For one, fans know them to be incredibly resilient. They can absorb damage like a sponge and the fact is that they have tremendous strength and endurance, thanks to them being Giants. They are also Warriors from the land of Elbaf, which essentially means that they are from the strongest race in the One Piece world. The might of the Giants is such that had they willed it, they could have made Big Mom the King of the Pirates, and that is without Dorry and Brogy even getting involved.
Furthermore, in terms of strength, fans know that they possess tremendous Haki. The Spear of Elbaf, which is a technique that even Big Mom copied from them, stems from these two. Even with rusty weapons that could not even function anymore, these two were able to slay an island-eating fish with ease. Now, with new weapons and upgraded strength, they are likely strong enough to destroy entire islands and cities in a single swing of their weapons. On Egghead, they clashed with the Elders and survived. In fact, they weren't even bothered by these clashes, and although it did look off to the fans to see these monsters standing up to the Elders, now, with their bounties being put in perspective, it makes much more sense.
Dorry and Brogy are monsters, no matter which way fans look at it. They are also at the peak of their strength, given the giants live for 400 years or more. There is no reason to doubt that the bounties they have are fully deserved.
Fans will most likely see incredible displays from both Dorry and Brogy in the Elbaf arc of One Piece, where they will once again go on to prove their strength and show fans why they deserve these massive bounties.
