Haki is a very special power that stems from the spirit in the world of One Piece. This ability is wielded by everyone in two forms, and they are the Color of Observation and Color of Arms. These two Haki types can be awakened by everyone, but at the same time, it requires special training and awakening, meaning most spend their lives without ever getting to access this power. A third type of Haki, called Conqueror's Haki, can only be found in certain people with kingly ambition.

By the end of Wano, fans already saw all the advanced Haki types. With Advanced Observation Haki, one can see the future. With Advanced Armament Haki, one can deal internal damage, and Conqueror's Haki can be coated over the whole body and used for both offense and defense.

Fans mistakenly believe that this is all there is to Haki, but they couldn't be more wrong. Haki has many applications, and some of them can even counter immortality.

There is already proof within the story that Haki has more than just the above-described applications. For instance, Shanks can send a bolt of Haki kilometers away and even communicate with it somehow. Shanks can also use his Conqueror's Haki to kill the Observation Haki of his enemies. Clearly, there are more Haki applications that fans don't know about, and Soul Damage is certainly going to be yet another one.

In the Egghead arc, the Five Elders showed their immortality and they were incredibly hard to damage, even for Luffy. None of the Straw Hats could counter the immortality of the Elders, but when Emeth unleashed the Conqueror's Haki of Joy Boy, he was easily able to blow away the elders and cancel their Abyss as well. Most of all, Imu felt pain in their soul from this Haki and started shaking. Clearly, this was soul damage that was felt thousands of miles away.

Gaban Possesses Soul Damaging Haki

This soul-damaging Haki hasn't been properly explained in One Piece, but that's what Scopper Gaban is for. Fans know already that Scopper Gaban has access to all the Haki types, as he clearly showed Conqueror's Haki Infusion vs Luffy. He is also aware of the Immortality of the Holy Knights, having fought them in God Valley. Gaban will show the Straw Hats how to counter the immortality of the Five Elders and the Holy Knights, and he'll do it with his advanced Conqueror's Haki. Luffy and Zoro will pick up this ability from him, and Sanji will definitely learn it in the future, possibly even in Elbaf.
