Fans of One Piece are well aware of the fact that there are two major power systems in the series, Devil Fruits and Haki. A character can handle themselves quite well in the One Piece story withouhigher-tierruit, but Haki is a must, especially in the New World when fighting higher tier enemies. The strongest user of Haki right now in the story is Shanks, but one character introduced in Elbaf can definitely come close.

Shanks is A Powerful Haki User

Probably The Strongest Haki User At The Moment

Shanks is a powerhouse and the only remaining original Yonko of One Piece, with Big Mom, Kaido, and Whitebeard, having all now fallen one way or the other.

Shanks, unlike the other Yonko, does not have any Devil Fruit, and he doesn’t need one. Shanks is a master of Haki, and if anything, he is probably the strongest Haki user alive in the series, something that Oda has highlighted time and again.

The only Haki uwhosehat could probably be superior to him in the One Piece story is none other than Joy Boy, the previous Nika whose Haki was, able to blow the Five Elders away all the way back to Marijoa, and even send shivers down Imu’s spine. Recently, however, in the Elbaf arc, fans have seen a new character showcase their Haki, and he might be able to rival Shanks.

Scopper Gaban Can Rival Shanks in Haki

Gaban Can Counter Immortality With Haki

Scopper Gaban is a powerful character who can potentially go toe to toe withleft-handhen it comes down to Haki, especially in his prime.

Gaban is not some random pirate. He is the left hand of the late Pirate King, Gol D. Roger, and his performance even in old age definitely shows that he is a monster.

Gaban has shown some incredible mastery over Haki, and while it has not been officially confirmed, Gaban definitely can use Conqueror’s Haki. After all, it would be underwhelming if the left hand of the Pirate King couldn’t uanit.

This is all a part of what puts Gaban on the level of Shanks when it comes to Haki. In the most recent One Piece chapter, Gaban has shown quite an insane feat replicated only by Joy Boy so far. Gaban was able to cut off the arm of Saint Sommers, one of the Holy Knights, and stop it from regenerating. As fans know, the Holy Knights are immortal, and no one should, in theory, be able to kill or hurt them, but Gaban achieved just that from what seems to be Haki.

Oda has huge plans in store for Gaban in the Elbaf arc, and this is only the start of it. Gaban is going to have to teach the Straw Hat Pirates more about Haki, and Luffy’s own mastery of it is definitely going to evolve until he can compete and even surpass Shanks in terms of Haki.
