One Piece: Oda Officially Reveals A New Villain Even Stronger Than Akainu

One Piece fans are often treated to new character reveals from the author, Eiichiro Oda, and in the Final Saga of the series, Oda has done incredibly well to introduce the fans to a plethora of absolutely phenomenal additions to the story. While some of them are characters that Oda had teased long ago and finally revealed, others were completely new additions to the story.

Naturally, some of these new additions are there to help the protagonists of the story, such as Scopper Gaban, who has aided Luffy greatly in Elbaf. However, others exist to serve the role of a big villain. Garling Figarland, the Supreme Leader of the Holy Knights and the man who was recently promoted to the Godhead of Science and Defense as a Gorosei, is one such villain, and Od has all but confirmed that he's even stronger than Akainu, a feared villain in the story.

Garling Figarland is an incredibly powerful individual that the fans were introduced to shortly after the events of the Wano Country Arc. The Final Saga gave the fans a good look at him, and to make things more exciting, Garling Figarland was shown to be an absolutely ruthless Celestial Dragon, even above Akainu in terms of rank and authority. But, Garling’s strength doesn't come from the fact that he is a Celestial Dragon.

In fact, Garling is just that special. Based on what Oda has already revealed, Garling is incredibly strong, so much so that Imu considered him for the position of Five Elders, and that says a lot. But, the perfect showing of his strength was given to all the fans during the God Valley Incident.

As fans know, the God Valley Incident was an incredibly massive battle that saw the Holy Knights, led by Garling Figarland, go up against the Rocks and the Roger Pirates, aided by the Navy. Given that Garling led the Holy Knights, it is quite clear that Oda had him portrayed on the same level as the likes of Roger, Rocks, and Garp. To top it all off, after everything was done, Garling was still crowned the Champion of God Valley, and that says a lot about him.

Garling is already very impressive, but there's more. Oda himself hyped up Garling to be one of One Piece’s strongest. According to Oda, Garling possesses tremendous strength, and there's a special reason for this strength of his. Finally, one only needs to look at Shanks to deduce how strong Garling must be. His Haki, along with his overall power, must be out of this world, and certainly greater than Akainu.

Garling Could Gain An Even Bigger Strength Boost

He's The Strongest Gorosei

Garling was competing with the likes of Roger, Whitebeard, Rocks, and many others in the One Piece world. Undoubtedly, he is stronger than the likes of Akainu, but that was back when he was in God Valley. Now that he's become an Elder, Garling could actually gain a new power buff which would put him head and shoulders above Akainu. He will likely receive powers from Imu, and possibly even a special Yokai ability. Garling is due to get even more impressive, and fans absolutely cannot wait to see how this monstrously powerful villain who is even stronger than the likes of Akainu will perform in the Final Saga of the story.
