While there have been countless mighty characters for all fans to enjoy over the years, only a handful can be said to be comparable to the Pirate King, Gol D. Roger. Roger was at the pinnacle of piracy and he redefined what it meant to be a Pirate. More than that, he achieved insurmountable power that could hardly be achieved by anyone in One Piece.

That said, Roger did have those who could match him. By his own admission, Garp is one such character, and of course, fans know that Whitebeard was a great rival of his. His biggest enemy of all was none other than Rocks D. Xebec, who fans know was a monster himself. All these characters are quite clearly on Roger's level, but there is another legendary figure that Oda has already revealed to be as strong as the Pirate King, and that is Garling Figarland, the former Supreme Leader of the Holy Knights and a current Elder of the World Government.

One Piece fans know very well they Garling Figarland is a monstrously powerful character. He is, right now, one of the members of the Five Elders, and he rose to this position after the death of Saint Saturn. Garling Figarland doesn't seem to possess any Devil Fruit power, but he is immensely powerful.

Fans know very well that he possesses tremendous strength up his sleeve, given that he was once the leader of the Holy Knights, the most elite order of fighters that the World Government has. More than that, however, Garling Figarland is known to be the Champion of God Valley. It was here that he made a great name for himself, so much so that he came to be known across the world. More than that, Oda himself hyped up Garling as well. According to Oda, Garling is tremendously powerful, and there's a special secret behind his strength.

Back in God Valley, Garling Figarland led the charge against the incoming pirates. He took on the likes of the Roger Pirates and the Rocks Pirates with his Holy Knights and the Marines. Garling obviously stood out in this battle, as is expected of him, given his title of the Champion of God Valley.

Garling Could Now Be Even Stronger Than Before

Garling is already confirmed to be a living legend of the One Piece world who could stand his own against monsters such as Roger, Rocks, and Whitebeard. But, that's not all. He could be even stronger right now. Fans know very well that Garling Figarland is immortal, thanks to the powers that Imu has bestowed upon him. On top of that, becoming an Elder means that Garling could very well have gained a Yokai ability as well, and if that's the case, then it goes without saying that he's stronger than before now, and possibly even beyond Yonko level. All that is to say that Garling is surely a living legend worthy of being compared to the Pirate King Roger, and it will take something very special to take him down in the Final Saga of One Piece.
