Marijoa’s Destruction In The Manga
Marijoa is Up In Flames
One Piece’s story has been quite an intense ride, to put it lightly, especially as the events of Elbaf keep heating up.
The Elbaf story has been filled with big reveals and has seen the arrival of legendary characters from the get-go, and it’s only been getting better, especially over the course of the last few weeks.
What’s especially interesting about this segment of the story is the reveal of the state of Marijoa, the land atop the Red Line where the Celestial Dragons reside. Marijoa is engulfed in flames, and the culprit is currently a mystery, although people have been theorizing it could be linked to the Revolutionary Army or the Blackbeard Pirates.
Fans already knew Marijoa was facing some troubles, since Shamrock was called back there a few chapters ago, but it’s definitely worse than most fans expected. While this attack might feel sudden to many fans, it had actually been shown by Oda years before this chapter.
Oda Revealed This Would Happen 6 Years Ago
Revealed in One Piece: World Seeker
The burning of Marijoa has been showcased by Oda a long, long time ago, about 6 years ago, to be exact. The burning of Marijoa was not actually in the manga, but in an artwork for a One Piece video game, One Piece: World Seeker.
One Piece: World Seeker was released back in 2019 and is definitely one of the most popular games for the series as it has an open world with an interesting plot. While the game is non canon, Oda did help in its production.
In this artwork for this game, the following message can be read:
"The Holy Land Mary Geoise, engulfed in flames!! Who is this mysterious figure in this untouchable sacred place...!?"
The artwork features a shadow figure, which fans now theorize to be Imu. Around him, fans can see the land of Marijoa burning in flames.
One Piece: Luffy Just Awakened A New Power, And It Isn't Haki Or Devil Fruit
Luffy has powerful haki and devil fruit, and his next power up will be completely different in One Piece.
With this, fans can see that Oda had this plot point planned for quite a long time. Seeing this finally happen in the manga is definitely something incredible. But a lot of mysteries concerning this event still remain, and Oda will have to give the fans the answers to them all.
