One Piece chapter 1120 has been absolutely sensational. It proved to be one of the most elaborate one s in the Egghead Island arc as of late. This chapter of the story focused quite a lot on Vegapunk's ending message, and at the same time, with it, the escape of the Strawhat Pirates.
The Iron Giant and Luffy were at the center of things as well, and overall, it can be said that One Piece chapter 1120 was exciting from the start to the finish. There was a lot of information revealed in this chapter, particularly in the flashbacks at the very beginning part. Fans got to see things such as Vegapunk's past from 24 years ago, and with that, more secrets about the mysterious families of the D.
The Various D Families In One Piece
The World Of One Piece Has Many D Families
The families of the D have always been central to the story of One Piece. Ever since One Piece began, fans knew that there was a deep secret behind the D that many people carried in their names. In fact, the D was hidden in quite a lot of the cases, and this was largely due to the fact that the World Government was openly hunting them. This led to many people who carried the D hiding it to avoid persecution. At the same time, fans also know that the people of the D were called enemies of the Gods and that the Celestial Dragons feared them. This clearly gave them quite a lot of importance, especially when the main character of the series, Luffy, carried it in his name as well, and the former Pirate King, Roger did as well. All the families of the D are very important, and it is actually an elaborate clan, with various people carrying this initial in their name. So far, fans have seen a lot of the D families in One Piece already.
Monkey D Family
Of course, the most prominent D Family that fans I've seen in One Piece is the Monkey D family. The protagonist of the series, Luffy, belongs to this family, as does his father, Monkey D. Dragon. At the same time, Luffy's grandfather, Monkey D. Garp, belongs to this family as well, and there are possibly other members of this family that fans have not seen just yet.
Portgas D Family
Luffy's brother, Ace was a part of the D family as well. Ace took the name of his mother, Rouge, who was from the family. Fans don't know many members of the Portgas D. Family, with Ace and his mother Rouge being the only two individuals.
Gol D Family
Of course, the family of the Pirate King, the Gol D family belonged to this clan as well. Roger was quite easily one of the most important members of the D family, and fans got to see quite a lot of him in the story over the years. More information about him and his family will most likely be revealed later down the line in One Piece.
Rocks D Family
More recently, fans found out more about another family within the ranks of the D, called the Rocks D family. This family only has one member revealed so far, and that is Rocks D. Xebec, the man who terrorized the seas around 40 years ago and was aiming to become the king of the world.

In the Dressrosa arc, fans found out that Law, one of the members of the Worst Generation, was also a member of the D family. In his case, the family was Trafalgar D. Family. Along with Law, of course, his family was of the D as well, but, they were all eradicated in the genocide of Flevance.
Nefertari D Family
In the Final Saga of One Piece, it was confirmed that Vivi belongs to the D family as well. The Nefertari family is actually a part of the D and her real name is Nefertari D. Vivi. Nefertari D. Cobra and Vivi are both part of this family, as was their ancestor, Lily.
Marshall D Family
Of course, from the antagonists, fans know that Blackbeard is a part of the D family as well. Blackbeard belongs to the Marshall D family, and he surely has uncovered some exciting secrets about this family, given that he is very interested in history.
Jaguar D Family
Finally, the last D family that fans have seen in One Piece over the years is the Jaguar D family. Fans only know one member of this family, and that is Jaguar D. Saul. He clearly mentioned that his family gave him this name and that they have carried it for years. Saul was present on Ohara the day it was eradicated. However, while many thought him to have died, he ended up surviving and is currently on Elbaf.
Oda Introduces A New D Family
In One Piece chapter 1120, Oda has officially introduced a new D family. This one belongs to archaeological roots and hails from Ohara. Much to the surprise of the fans, the person who was introduced as a new member of the D family was none other than Professor Clover. Fans know Clover to be a very important character in One Piece, and he was first introduced in Robin's flashback, during the Enies Lobby Arc. There, Clover revealed that he had studied the Poneglyphs and uncovered many truths about the world and its history. In One Piece chapter 1120, fans got to see more of Professor Clover, much to the surprise of the fans. It was revealed that he was a member of the Clou D. Family.
This is quite an exciting bit of information, as it tells the fans that there are different D families with different professions as well. For instance, Clover was an archaeologist, which means that other archaeologists could've carried this name as well. Clou D. Family had more individuals in it, and fans know this from Clover's backstory. He witnessed his brother being killed right in front of him, and back then, he was so scared that he lied and said that he was just his friend. In reality, Clover carried the name as well, and he held this regret right until the very end. Of course, fans know that Clover ended up dying as well, unfortunately.
The mystery of the D is getting deeper and deeper in One Piece, and at this point, fans wouldn't be surprised to see more characters being from this mysterious family. Characters such as Nico Robin could also end up being a member of the D family, as was implied in One Piece chapter 1120. Fans simply have to sit back and see how Oda illustrates his story, and, with that, enters the most exciting part of the Egghead Island arc, as it edges closer to its end.
