Luffy has, so far, used Gear 5 to his benefit in battle, and fans know for a fact that he'll continue to do that as the series continues. But, Luffy will obviously not be limited to the powers that he has right now. With each arc, Luffy continues to grow, and so do his abilities. In One Piece's Elbaf, it seems Oda has already set up Luffy for a major power up which will see him use Gear 5 in a way never seen before.

Luffy Vs Imu Is Based On A Game Of Reversi

  • Imu's Main Technique Is Domi Reversi
  • Imu Can Turn Anyone Into A Demon

Luffy Vs Imu hasn't begun yet, but fans know already what this fight will be based on. When Imu first showcased their powers, it was clear that they could turn anyone into their ally. Imu was seen using a power called Domi Reversi, which allows them to grant immortality to someone, along with tremendous strength, in exchange for a portion of their lifespan, as well as the ability to think logically under their dominion. Imu used the power of Dorry and Brogy, along with many other strong Giants. Undoubtedly, this has created a monstrously powerful force in Elbaf for the Straw Hats and the Giants to overcome. Without help, they cannot fight such a power, and that's where Luffy comes in.

We must continue, until the Will of Elbaf breaks! — Imu

Luffy Will Turn the Giants Into Nika

Luffy Will Learn To Use The Nika Power In New Ways

Of course, fans expect Luffy to fight Imu and eventually defeat them. This would undoubtedly turn the tide of the battle in their favor. However, it isn't Oda's style to have side characters just sit and watch. The Giants of Elbaf are prideful warriors and they will definitely fight in this war. In other words, Oda will ensure they have the tools to fight the Demons in the country.

Don't say a word, Chopper! I understand. — Luffy

Curiously enough, Imu Vs Luffy seems to be based on a game of Reversi. This is a board game played by two, and it seems the goal here is to turn as many pieces to either black or white. This implies Luffy can potentially turn pieces white by transforming them into Nika temporarily. Just as Imu turns people into demons, Luffy might be able to turn people into Nika using his imagination. Remember, anything that Luffy can imagine can come true.

This sets up Elbaf's Final War as Luffy's Nika army Vs an army of Demons led by Imu. The more pieces they beat, the more Luffy will gain in the game, and eventually, Imu will lose.

Will The Straw Hats Get Nika Forms?

If Oda truly gives Luffy the power to turn others into Nika, then perhaps Luffy can also do that to the Straw Hat Pirates here. It would be extremely fun to see how they look and act when in this form, and hopefully this also allows certain characters to shine more in battles.
