In One Piece chapter 1159, Oda revealed a legendary clan, called the Davy Clan, which exists in the One Piece world. This Davy Clan was prominent around the time of the Void Century, and now, it only has a handful of survivors. The Davy Clan is incredibly powerful while Oda didn't show all their history, a good chunk of their story was revealed to the fans.

One Piece chapter 1159 was shocking for the fans in many ways, but what surprised the fans the most was, undoubtedly, Oda's big reveal concerning the Davy Clan. When Rocks D. Xebec was first introduced, it was clear that he had some connections to Davy Jones. After all, it was quite clear that he worshiped him, given that he stated so himself to Imu.

But, whether this Davy Jones was just a mythical figure, a legendary God or some human who existed long ago was not revealed to the fans. That's precisely why One Piece chapter 1159 was so vital. In it, fans saw a conversation between Rocks D. Xebec and Harald, and it is in this conversation that Rocks revealed that his real name is Davy D. Rocks, and that he's a survivor of the Davy Clan.

The Davy Clan existed long ago, and seemingly had connections to God Valley. Rocks's ancestor was Davy D. Jones, who most certainly existed during the Void Century. Davy D. Jones was an enemy of the World Government and they tried their best to eliminate him. At some point, they succeeded, but the bloodline itself couldn't be vanquished. The Davy Clan lives to this day. Rocks D. Xebec was a survivor of the clan, and now, Davy D. Teach, also known as Blackbeard, is going to be the one who carries the torch.

It is unknown what the Davy Clan did in the past and why they earned the special wrath of the World Government. But, they must've opposed the World Government in one way or another. Above all, it is highly likely that Davy D. Jones wanted to be the King of the World himself, and he was eventually wiped out by Imu in one way or another.

Now, Blackbeard carries the will of Davy D. Jones, and as is clear in the story, he wants to be King of the World as well. Fans absolutely cannot wait for Blackbeard to show his true powers and go up against the Government to claim what he believes is his rightful throne.

One Piece Chapter 1159 will be out this week. As usual, One Piece is going to drop on Sunday. In Japan, One Piece drops at 12AM JST on Monday.
