This article contains spoilers from One Piece's Elbaf Arc.
Summary
- Gear 5 is Luffy's peak power level.
- Luffy's Haki can still become stronger.
- Luffy will learn to counter immortality for next power-up.
One Piece's Elbaf arc has been fascinating so far, and fans have already seen some massive lore reveals, and at the same time, character introductions. Elbaf has also given the fans the biggest villain in the entire story, Imu, and that is truly incredible. As expected, against someone like Imu, Luffy will have to be at his very best, and fans absolutely cannot wait to see what he has in store for the ruler of the world.
One Piece: Oda Has Already Hinted At Luffy's Upcoming Defeat And Failure
Luffy will be defeated in One Piece. And this defeat could be happening very soon.
While Luffy already has some incredible powers, such as Haki and Gear 5, it is also quite clear that he needs more than just that. In fact, Luffy's next power-up has already been decided by Oda and it will come to him soon in the Elbaf arc.
Luffy's Gear 5 And Conqueror's Haki Isn't Enough
- Gear 5 Is Luffy's Peak
- Luffy's Haki Can Grow Stronger
Right now in One Piece, Luffy has many incredible weapons in his arsenal. Fans know that Luffy has access to the power of Gear 5, which has, in some ways, been overused by Luffy, since he's incredibly reliant on it. But, as the story continues, Oda also constantly highlights the fact that Haki is equally important for Luffy to surpass everyone. Kaido made it clear to Luffy that Haki surpasses all, and that is why Luffy has also trained his Haki considerably over the years. In Wano, Luffy learned how to use Conqueror's Haki Infusion, and it has become a part of his arsenal ever since.
This is my peak! This is Gear 5! — Luffy
However, fans know for a fact that Conqueror's Haki infusion isn't enough either. In fact, this was clear in the Egghead Arc, where Luffy fought against the Five Elders, that he actually needed to gain more powers if he is to take down the likes of the Five Elders and Imu. The biggest obstacle in his way right now is the immortality of this group, and Luffy needs a new power to counter it.
Luffy Will Learn To Counter Immortality Soon
Scopper Gaban Is Key To Learning The New Haki
While Luffy was helpless in the Egghead Arc against the likes of the Five Elders, in the sense that he couldn't damage them no matter what, things are different here. He cannot run away from Elbaf like he did in Egghead, and that only means one thing: Luffy will learn to bypass Immortality here, which will be his next Power-Up.
It's useless! Our attacks don't work no matter what we do. Let's scram. — Luffy on Egghead
One Piece: Oda Has Already Decided To Kill Two Characters In Elbaf
Oda has set up major red flags for these two characters. These two will die before the end of Elbaf in One Piece.
Of course, Luffy is likely not going to figure that out on his own. Scopper Gaban, the left arm of the Pirate King, already showed everyone how he countered Immortality during his brief fight against Sommers. Chopper even went after him to get the key to countering Immortality. Soon, the Straw Hat Pirates will learn the secrets of the Holy Knights and the Five Elders, and learn how to bypass Immortality. More than anyone, Luffy needs to learn this ability, and once he does, the likes of the Elders will be beatable for him. In fact, Luffy will also be able to fight and beat Imu, at least in Gunko's body.
Luffy's New Power Will Be Immense
After learning to counter the Immortality of the Elders and Holy Knights, Luffy will be on an entirely different level. Fans know that he's already Yonko Level, but he will be pushed to a new level soon, and get closer than ever to the likes of Shanks and Roger.
