In fact, it is clear for the fans to see that they are the primary antagonists of the arc, even if they are not to be fought in a full-scale battle. Fans have been wondering about how strong the Five Elders truly are, and it appears that One Piece chapter 1111 has finally provided the answer to them.

The Yokai Of The Gorosei

Gorosei Yokai Forms One Piece

The Five Elders have showcased incredible powers over the course of the last few chapters. Saint Saturn was the one who demonstrated this ability first of all. His Ushi Oni powers, also known as the Gyuki, certainly did shine quite a bit over the course of the latter part of the Egghead Island arc. He engaged in combat against Luffy and certainly held his own, delivering an even better performance than Admiral Kizaru. However, it wasn't until all Five Elders assembled that fans truly got a look at how strong they are. These Five Elders assembled in One Piece chapter 1110, and they demonstrated the abilities of their Yokai.

Curiously enough, it doesn't look like the Five Elders hold Devil Fruit powers. All of them seem to have Yokai abilities, which implies that they have never eaten a Devil Fruit in their lives. Of course, the source of these powers remains unknown at this point in time. Regardless, what fans are sure about already is that the Five Elders are monstrously powerful.

In One Piece chapter 1110, fans saw all the Five Elders utilizing their Yokai forms, and they were certainly intimidating. Starting with the number one ranked Gorosei, Saint Shepherd Ju Peter was revealed to have the power of the Sandworm. This is an incredibly powerful creature that has made its appearance in many pieces of fiction. The number two of the Gorosei is Saint Ethanbaron V. Nusjuro. This individual is the bald Gorosei who also wields what appears to be the Shodai Kitetsu.

He has the power of the Bakotsu Yokai, and using this power, he can transform into a skeleton stallion as well as its hybrid form. The number three of the Gorosei is Saint Topman Warcury. This individual can transform into a Chinese mythical creature called the Fengxi. This is an absolutely massive boar with four tusks and enough power to crush anyone in his path. The number four of the Gorosei is Saint Marcus Mars. This individual can transform into Itsumade, which is a massive bird-like figure that appears to be serpentine, and at the same time, has massive wings that are as sharp as blades. Finally, number five of the Gorosei is Saint Saturn, and fans have already seen his Gyuki powers in full flow, in which he manifests the upper half of an ox and the lower half of a spider.

The Regeneration Of The Gorosei

Of course, fans have been wondering as to how strong the Gorosei are, and to answer that, they have to look at every aspect of their abilities. One Piece chapter 111 confirmed an incredibly important aspect of the powers. It has now been confirmed that every single member of the Five Elders has unlimited regeneration. This regeneration power was first demonstrated by Saturn. Of course, at that time, it was believed that only Saturn had this power. However, now, it is clear that this power is shared among all Elders. Every single one of them can heal indefinitely from all attacks that hit them. Luffy, despite using his Gear 5, was not even able to scratch them, even though he actually landed many attacks on them. This just goes to show that no matter what Luffy did to them, he was not able to harm them at all and, eventually, Luffy himself would run out of stamina, while the Five Elders would still be as good as they were when the battle started.

There surely has to be a counter to this regeneration ability, however, so far, Luffy has not figured out what this counter really is. A counter existing is implied by the fact that nearly every member of the Five Elders has a scar on their body. Saint Saturn has a scar that runs across his face, Saint Topman Warcury has some scars on his forehead, and even Saint Shepherd Ju Peter seems to have a scar running across his chest. This implies that they actually can be hurt, however, how one can actually do that remains unknown at this point in time, and it appears that that is something that Oda will discuss later down the line. Still, even by a Yonko like Luffy, damaging them does not seem to be easy at all.

The Haki Of The Gorosei

While the Gorosei clearly have some of the most overpowered transformations that fans have seen in One Piece, there is more than just that that makes one a top-tier individual when it comes to their strength. This aspect is, of course, Haki. For the longest time, fans believed that the Five Elders might not have powerful Haki. However, this idea was shattered by Oda in One Piece chapter 1110. There, Saint Ethan Baron V. Nusjuro was seen coating his sword in Haki and slicing through the Pacifistas at blazing fast speeds.

Of course, that was not confirmation of any of them having more than what appeared to be basic Haki, however, that is precisely where One Piece chapter 1111 came into play, and now, they have been confirmed to be users of powerful Conqueror's Haki as well. In One Piece chapter 1111, fans saw Saint Topman Warcury utilize Conqueror's Haki infused with his roar. This Conqueror's Haki appears to be utilized in its advanced version, as it was able to blow away Luffy's clothes and shock him in a way that confirmed that he did not understand what was going on. In fact, the radius of this Haki was so immense that even the surrounding marine ships felt it and many individuals passed out.

The Five Elders having powerful Conqueror's Haki is proof of the fact that they check every box when it comes to being among the top tiers of the One Piece world. They have access to what appears to be some of the most overpowered transformations, they have indefinite regeneration, and now, it appears that they have the advanced form of even Conqueror's Haki, along with other strong Haki types. This is proof enough of the fact that they are fighters in the same tier as the Yonko, and that even Yonko might struggle against them if they do not figure out a way to bypass their regeneration. At the moment, that seems impossible. Clearly, for now, the Five Elders seem unbeatable in One Piece, and Luffy will surely have to figure it away around their colossal defense.

One Piece is available to read via Viz Media. The series can be read by the fans officially and for free on the Shonen Jump and the Manga Plus app. The release date for the next chapter of One Piece, One Piece 1111, is set to be March 24, 2024.
