Xebec, and even though Rocks fell on this island 38 years ago, Oda has already set up his return by someone carrying his will, as is a very popular concept in One Piece.

Rocks D. Xebec and His Death In One Piece

  • Rocks Was The Strongest Long Ago
  • He Was Beaten By Roger And Garp

Rocks D. Xebec was first introduced in One Piece by none other than Sengoku in One Piece chapter 957. Since then, Oda has slowly been building his character up, and dropping major hints through the likes of Kaido, and later, through Kuma as well. At the same time, Oda also dropped some massive hints about the God Valley Incident in the Elbaf arc through the character of Loki, and most recently, through the Holy Knights as well, which fans know were active back then as well.

As far as Rocks himself goes, it was made quite clear in the story that he fell. Rocks was beaten by the collaboration of Roger and Garp as he was too strong for either of them to take on alone. Together, they managed to kill him, but what died was only the person. The will of Rocks is still alive and well, and it is Loki who is carrying it to this day.

How Rocks's Will Lives On Through Loki

Rocks Researched The Taboos of the World

One thing that Sengoku made clear was that Rocks wanted to be the King of the World, and as such, a lot of fans believe him to be after Imu. Rocks most likely knew of Imu's existence. This is largely down to the fact that Rocks researched and indulged in many taboos of the world, and in the One Piece world, researching history is the biggest taboo. It's highly likely that Rocks wanted to find out the true history and even possibly take down Imu somehow.

More than that, fans also know that Rocks visited Elbaf, as was confirmed by Loki himself. Given that this place has ties to the Sun God Nika himself, it is no surprise to know that Rocks was here. The purpose of his visit is unknown, but fans can imagine that this visit had something to do with Nika. It was during this visit that Rocks gained the admiration of Loki, to the point where Loki even took a beating to join his crew. To this day, Loki admires Rocks and wants to be just like him. To him, Rocks is like Shanks is to Luffy, which is why he carries his legacy.

Loki Is The Next Rocks In One Piece

Right now, Loki is the only one in One Piece that carries Rocks's will that the fans know of. The concept of Inherited Will is prevalent in One Piece, which is why Rocks will live on through Loki, and why Loki will be like the second coming of Rocks. Of course, other characters have a connection to Rocks as well, such as Blackbeard, and possibly even Buggy, but fans will have to wait and see how Oda elaborates upon those ideas. For now, Loki carries his will and will most likely fulfill Rocks’s dream of taking down the King.
