The One Piece anime is one of the most popular anime series to ever exist, and it has maintained its tremendous quality for decades now. Although it has received its fair share of criticism over the years, it has seen stark improvement since the Wano arc, something many fans appreciated, despite other glaring issues that still persist. The Egghead Island arc has been quite exciting in the anime, and overall, the quality has been sublime, but a huge issue plagues the anime now. Since the 6-month break that happened in late 2024, and lasted till early 2025, the anime has been going on repeated breaks, and it looks like it'll continue.
One Piece: Every Straw Hat's Possible Elbaf Power-Up
The Straw Hat pirates are about to grow strong and tap into new power-ups in One Piece's Elbaf.
This didn't happen before the break, and recently, it was revealed that in October, One Piece’s anime will go on not one, but two breaks. The break starts on October 5, and the anime should, in theory, return on October 19.
The One Piece Anime Is Going On A Long Break
- No New Episode on October 5
- A Recap Episode on October 12
Fans of the One Piece anime have been aware that October would kickstart with an anime break for quite a while now. The anime was scheduled to go on a break on October 5, 2025, to be specific. This meant that One Piece 1146, which is the upcoming One Piece episode, was to be delayed. However, nobody expected that One Piece 1146 would be delayed by more than one week. While October 5 will have no episode broadcast at all, the week after, October 12, will instead air a filler episode. This episode will be a special recap that will specifically focus on CP0. These kinds of filler episodes have been quite common this year. Fans are incredibly disappointed with two One Piece breaks in a row because, after all, One Piece episode 1145, which aired last week, was very exciting and set up some intense events to unfold on Egghead.
One Piece's Strongest Devil Fruit Is Officially Confirmed (It's Not The Nika Fruit)
Oda has revealed the strongest Devil Fruit in One Piece, and it isn't Luffy's Nika fruit.
When Will One Piece’s Anime Return?
One Piece Should Return on October 19
While no official statement has been made, it’s safe to say that One Piece’s anime will swiftly return after the 2 weeks of break. In that regard, One Piece fans can expect episode One Piece episode 1146 to drop on October 19, 2025. In theory, there should be no more breaks in October after that. Meanwhile, One Piece's next chapter will be out next week. As usual, One Piece is going to drop on Sunday, both anime and manga. In Japan, the One Piece manga drops at 12 AM JST on Monday, while in the US, the chapter usually drops on Sundays. Fans can read the chapter for free on Manga Plus.
