This article contains spoilers from One Piece's Elbaf arc.

Summary

  • Elbaf will bring Luffy closer to the final island.
  • Scopper Gaban might give the location of the last Road Poneglyph.
  • The next island after Elbaf could involve a battle with Shanks at Lodestar Island.

The Elbaf arc of One Piece is extremely exciting at the moment and fans know that Oda has barely scratched the surface with this arc so far. Elbaf is going to be absolutely massive, likely going on for years, before One Piece moves even closer to its end and takes Luffy on one of his last adventures.

Currently, Elbaf holds a big threat in the form of the Holy Knights and fans know that it is only a matter of time before they show their true might. In fact, even bigger enemies might show up in the Elbaf arc, thanks to the Abyss of the World Government, but eventually, Elbaf will have to prevail. Once that happens, fans will have to turn their eyes to the next location the crew will visit, and Oda already has two big possibilities for that.

Why The Search For The Last Road Poneglyph Is Next After Elbaf

  • Elbaf Will Take Luffy Closer To The Final Island
  • Scopper Gaban Will Give The Location Of The Last Road Poneglyph

Fans know that Luffy is incredibly close to the One Piece right now. After all, since he set sail, he's progressed at an unprecedented rate. Luffy acquired his first Road Poneglyph from Zou, thanks to the Minks. After that, Luffy went to Whole Cake Island and stole Big Mom's Poneglyph. In the war against Kaido, Luffy acquired one more Poneglyph and right now he has access to three of the four red stones. It is only a matter of time before Luffy gets access to the last one and then, he's ready to sail to Laugh Tale.

But, the main issue is the last Road Poneglyph. Nobody knows where it is or who it is in the possession of. The most popular idea is that the Man With the Burn Scar holds the last Road Poneglyph, and this person might just be Scopper Gaban, given that he has a burn scar on his face. So, would Gaban simply give Luffy the last Road Poneglyph after Elbaf? He did ask him to come to him once the battle on Elbaf is done and dusted.

The answer to that question is no. Gaban won't simply give Luffy the last Road Poneglyph. This is because the last Road Poneglyph is not with him anymore. That said, he will most likely point Luffy in the direction of the last Road Poneglyph, which means there will only be one location for the Straw Hat Pirates to visit before the Final Island.

The Two Major Possibilities After Elbaf

After the Elbaf Arc of One Piece wraps up, Gaban will likely give Luffy the location of the last Road Poneglyph, but acquiring it will certainly not be easy.

The Battle Against Shanks At Lodestar Island

The last Road Poneglyph will require Luffy to clash with Roger's very own successor, Shanks. The location of the last Road Poneglyph is going to be Lodestar Island, which is the very last island on the Grand Line. This isn't the island with the One Piece, but is one where all the secrets about the Poneglyphs and their true purpose is revealed. Shanks is Roger's chosen guardian, and fans know that Shanks will serve as Luffy's final test before he goes off to claim the One Piece.

The Rescue Of Garp And The Blackbeard Battle

There is another detour that Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates might have to make before they head to Lodestar Island. This detour could be because of the execution of Monkey D. Garp. Fans know that Garp's public execution is inevitable at this point. Teach wants to negotiate with the Government, but this negotiation is bound to fail. Once it does fail, Teach will likely move ahead with the public execution of Garp, which means a war with the Navy and possibly even the Straw Hat Pirates will unfold. Luffy, wanting to save his grandfather, might head to the Pirate Island first.

As such, once the Straw Hat Pirates leave Elbaf, only two locations will be open to them. It is either a war for Garp on the Pirate Island, or a battle against Shanks at Lodestar Island for the last Road Poneglyph.
