This is precisely why the Straw Hat Pirates news to getting stronger. Fans have long been waiting for some of the members of the Straw Hat Pirates to awaken Haki, and although no big progress has been made in this regard, one particular Straw Hat might already have awakened Haki without even knowing it.

Why The Straw Hats Need Haki In The Final Saga

  • The Dangers Of The New World Are Immense
  • The Straw Hat Pirates Need To Get Stronger

The Straw Hat Pirates are incredibly strong, and fans know that for a fact. Luffy and his crew were strong enough to fight against the Beast Pirates and even win against them. But, it can't be denied that the vast majority of the shift was put in by the Monster Trio. Robin, Jinbe, and Franky did well enough as well, but they still need to climb higher heights to be considered strong Yonko Officers. This major Power-Up for them can only come in the form of Haki.

To never doubt, that is true power! — Silvers Rayleigh

More than that, fans also know that the Straw Hat Pirates sail the New World, the perils of which know no bounds. The crew really needs to get stronger, and if there's one thing a pirate needs to survive the New World, it is Haki.

Why Franky Might Already Have Gotten Haki

Franky Could Hurt Gear 5 Luffy On Egghead

Although Oda hasn't confirmed Franky as a Haki user, there is one particular scene in One Piece that fans often turn to. On Egghead, Luffy, and the Straw Hats fought against the Five Elders. When Luffy realized that he couldn't win against them due to their immorality, it became increasingly clear that he'd have to figure out a way to get them out of proximity. To that end, Luffy used his Gear 5 Gum Gum Balloon and asked the crew to give him their strong shots.

Of course it hurts! You guys are using Haki! — Luffy

When Luffy was hit, he redirected their powerful blows to Marcus Mars, blowing the bird away from Egghead completely. While Luffy was getting hit, he openly stated that their attacks hurt, simply because they were using Haki. Sanji, as fans know, is a Haki user. Bonnet was clearly using Haki too. The only other character involved in the attack was none other than Franky. Since Franky could hurt Luffy, and he commented on being hit by Haki, it is possible that Franky might've accidentally tapped into Haki momentarily.

Franky Gaining Haki Would Be Perfect

It goes without saying that even if Franky used Haki in Elbaf, he most certainly wasn't aware of it. Franky might've accidentally tapped into this power for a brief moment, which means Oda could be preparing a big moment for Franky gaining Haki in the future, possibly Elbaf. Fans absolutely can't wait for more growth from Franky, especially now that the crew is getting closer than ever to the One Piece.
