This article contains spoilers for the One Piece series.

Elbaf is the second arc of One Piece's Final Saga and it is quite easily one of the most exciting ones in the story at the moment. So far, Elbaf has proven to be truly unique and it stands out as one of the best arcs of the series, even though it’s yet to conclude. Ever since its beginning last year, fans have witnessed an incredible amount of lore reveal, including the deep secrets of the God Valley Incident.

It's True: Oda Had Another User For Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika In One Piece

Luffy isn't the only user of the Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika; Oda had huge plans for him in a One Piece movie.

At this point, One Piece's Elbaf arc has done well to put into perspective for the fans just how strong Imu is, and just how difficult it is for Luffy to currently take them down. If an alliance made up of Rocks, Whitebeard, Big Mom, Kaido, Roger, and Garp couldn’t do any damage to Imu, then Luffy truly has no chance. Right now, Luffy vs Imu can only end in a terrible defeat for the protagonist of the series.

Imu Is Far Beyond Luffy’s Level In One Piece

  • Luffy is Not Even on Rocks’s Level Yet

If there’s one thing fans were always sure of, it’s that Imu would turn out to be very powerful, but hardly any fan expected Imu to be so strong that they'd finish Rocks off in a single attack. Fans now know that Imu’s powers far exceed anything that Oda had shown before, and Oda put that on display when he showed Imu emerging unscathed from a powerful alliance attack in One Piece chapter 1163. In God Valley, Rocks, Whitebeard, Big Mom, Kaido, Roger, and Garp all attacked Imu at once, and yet, that amounted to nothing.

It's Confirmed: One Piece Could Be Repeating Naruto's Biggest Mistake In The Final Saga

Naruto made a huge mistake in its final arc, and Oda might be repeating this in One Piece.

At this point in time, Luffy isn’t even on Rocks’s level, let alone as strong as an alliance of 6 of One Piece’s strongest characters of all time. Fans at least believed that Imu channeling their powers through a subordinate would nerf them enough for Luffy to fight, but that’s obviously not the case after seeing what Imu-Saturn did on God Valley.

If Oda really goes through an Imu vs Luffy battle, it can truly only end in Luffy’s defeat. Even if Luffy unlocks Advanced Conqueror’s Haki, it won’t be enough to do any substantial damage to Imu. This could be Oda setting up a capture and rescue arc for Luffy, but the truth might just be that Oda will switch the main villain of Elbaf instead.

Could Luffy Really be Defeated In Elbaf?

  • Luffy Could Fall Against Imu
  • Oda Could Switch Out the Main Villain to Loki

When Imu took over the body of Gunko, many believed she would be the main enemy to fight on Elbaf, and while that might still be the case, Oda might surprise fans with what he has in store.

It’s more than likely that Loki will now be the main villain of the arc, but with a twist. Loki could be attacked with Domi Reversi, and made the real villain of Elbaf. This confrontation would make far more sense for Luffy’s level right now.

Imu, and maybe even the Holy Knights, could retreat soon. After all, fans need to remember that Marijoa is in trouble, which is why Imu came to Elbaf in the first place to resolve things quickly.

If Imu really leaves, the perfect battles will be set up—Luffy vs Loki, Zoro vs Dorry, and Sanji vs Brogy. This arc will advance their Conquerors’ Haki and teach them how to bypass immortality.

One Piece's next Chapter will be out this week. As usual, One Piece is going to drop on Sunday. In Japan, One Piece drops at 12AM JST on Monday. However, the vast majority of international readers will see the chapter available on October 26. Fans can read the chapter for free on Manga Plus.
