With such huge success, it's unsurprising to see that One Piece has received quite a lot of spin-off series, usually by different creators. Only recently, an anime adaptation for one such spin-off, called One Piece: Heroines was announced. While some spin-offs are only just beginning, fans would be sad to learn that one of One Piece's most popular spin-off series, One Piece in Love, is actually ending. One Piece in Love gained great popularity after its short anime adaptation last year, but it's now time to part ways with its manga. One Piece in Love is ending on January 22, 2026, with a total of 180 chapters. Hopefully, new and even better spin-off series will be born after that.

  • Chapter 180 marks the end of the manga
  • One Piece In Love was greatly loved by all fans

As was announced earlier this week, one of One Piece's spin-off manga is ending. That manga is written by Daiki Ihara, and is titled One Piece in Love. One Piece in Love went under many fans' radars for a few years, but it gained some popularity last year, in April 2025. As fans know, One Piece in Love received a short, six-episode anime adaptation, and that definitely made it better known in the fandom.

Now, One Piece in Love is ending soon. The manga for One Piece in Love will receive its last chapter on Shonen Jump+, on January 22, 2026. While short, fans are aware of the fact that One Piece in Love definitely had a good run. After all, the series is ending with 180 chapters, which is quite a lot for a comedic spin-off series. One Piece in Love could even make a return someday with another anime adaptation. After all, there's still a lot of content that's left to animate.

One Piece in Love is One of Many One Piece Spin Off Series

  • One Piece Party, Chopperman, and Shokugeki no Sanji Are Other Known Spinoffs From One Piece

One Piece in Love definitely caught the attention of many fans. While it is a spin-off of Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece, it is only connected to it by references and some character names. One Piece in Love is completely different from the plot of the One Piece story, and even the characters are pretty much unrecognizable. Nevertheless, it was still a fun ride for fans of the series.

Of course, One Piece in Love is just one of many spin-off series that the franchise has received over the years. Another, perhaps more well-known comedic spin-off manga that One Piece received is One Piece Party. One Piece Party actually featured characters from the main series and it is quite liked by all fans. Thanks to this manga, One Piece fans are able to see the Straw Hat Pirates interact with old and new characters in some funny scenarios.

Aside from that, fans also have short spin-offs that have already ended, like Chopperman, which turns Chopper into a superhero, and Usopp into a major villain. While comedy is fun, One Piece also has a bit more serious spin-off one-shots. One example of that is Shokugeki no Sanji, a short story written about the fan favorite Straw Hat Pirate, Sanji. Of course, these are just a few to name, and there are many others that have been written over the years.

  • Dragon and Garp Are Oda's Top Picks

With One Piece in Love ending, many One Piece fans hope for more spin-off series to be created. Of course, most One Piece fans would love for the spin-offs to be more serious and connected to the World of One Piece in general. Series like One Piece in Love could barely even be called One Piece spin-offs.

Luckily for fans, an official spin-off series could be in store for them, but not anytime soon. Eiichiro Oda, the creator of One Piece, has revealed that he would like to explore side characters after he finishes writing the One Piece series. Some of these characters include the likes of Monkey D. Garp, and even Monkey D. Dragon and the Revolutionary Army.

Such spin-offs would be extremely exciting and would be able to expand the already large lore of the One Piece series. One Piece is so big that Oda cannot explore every single character appropriately in his manga. As such, side stories on different characters would be loved by all fans.

  • One Piece Won't End Before 2030

One Piece in Love is ending soon, but the One Piece manga itself is nowhere near its conclusion. One Piece has been ongoing for over 28 years now, and that is a very long time for most manga. At the moment, One Piece has over 1100 chapters. Every once in a while, Eiichiro Oda sets a date for the end of the story but fans know very well that Oda often underestimates the time it takes him to flesh out various story arcs.

At the moment, it seems that One Piece won't end anytime soon. As fans of the manga know, One Piece is currently in the Elbaf arc and there is still much to explore in the story. At the very least, One Piece still has to continue until 2030. A more reasonable estimation would be for the story to end by 2032.

Oda has built up too many exciting plotlines, and taking into consideration the current speed of the manga, it'll take him a few years to tackle everything and jot down a fulfilling ending for the fans to enjoy.

On one hand, some fans want to see how One Piece ends, Luffy becoming the Pirate King, what the One Piece is, as well as the truth about the Void Century, along with the answers to many other mysteries. On the other hand, One Piece has become part of many people's lives. Naturally, some fans wish for it to continue for as long as possible.

The magazine One Piece serializes in, Weekly Shonen Jump, would also like for it to be around for as long as possible, especially right now, with no big series to carry on as a pillar. But, for now, fans of One Piece have nothing to worry about as the manga will continue for more than 5 years #5 the very least. On the flip side, this also means that no One Piece spin-offs by Oda will come for a very long time.
