This article contains spoilers from One Piece's Elbaf Arc.

Summary

  • Imu can use magic powers through a magical book.
  • The Domi Reversi spell turns targets into permanent slaves.
  • Imu's powers include granting immortality and prodigious strength to their followers.

One Piece chapter 1150 finally gave the fans a good look at the powers of the strongest villain in the series, Imu, and it is safe to say that they are, by far, the most overpowered character in the whole story. Imu showed up on Elbaf in One Piece chapter 1149, and just their presence was enough of a shock for the fans.

The fact that Imu actually went on to use their powers in this chapter and give the fans a glimpse of what they're all about just goes to show that hardly anyone in the One Piece world can compete against them. Although Imu has yet to show their best abilities, they have shown off a few powers already, and one of them is Domi Reversi, which is up there with the most dangerous One Piece powers of all time.

Imu's Magic Book Ability Is One Piece's Most Broken Power

  • Imu Can Use Magic With Their Power
  • The Magic Book Has Many Spells

When Imu was first introduced, nobody really ever thought that they would have a magic book at their disposal. In fact, most fans just considered Imu to have a Zoan transformation and tremendous strength at their disposal. One Piece chapter 1150 shocked the fans to their core when Imu started showing off their arsenal of weapons. All of Imu's power is magical in nature. They can use their fingers to draw pentagrams in the air and use them to summon anything, almost as if pulling out things from the Abyss. Imu was able to spawn a cannon from the pentagram and blow up the Giants.

Mu shall grant thou an immortal body and prodigious strength! — Imu

But, that certainly wasn't enough. Imu then went on to conjure a magic book, which seems to hold several spells inside. In essence, Imu is a mage who can do just about anything. Some of Imu's powers include being able to buff up the body they possess, and even making others immortal. Imu can also grant tremendous strength to other followers, and most likely also bestow upon them powerful fruits. No matter which way fans look at it, Imu's power is broken, and all this is made possible using a technique called Domi Reversi.

Imu's Domi Reversi Explained

A Spell That Binds Others To Them Like A Slave Contract

Imu's Domi Reversi is quite possibly the most exciting ability they've shown so far, but to understand Domi Reversi, one needs to grasp the technique that needs to be performed before it. In essence, Domi Reversi is a power that allows Imu to bring out the inverse of someone, or in other words, bestow the power of evil upon them by inverting their personality. To use Domi Reversi, however, Imu has to use a Demonic Contract first. Imu calls this contract “Demonic Contract: A Quarl.” To use this power, Imu draws a pentagram magic circle in the air with their finger, and throws it under the target. Once it is cast, the target starts sinking in it. It is highly likely that at this point, Imu can do multiple things with their target. Perhaps, that can even kill their target at this point.

However, when Imu wants to turn them into their allies, they use a sub-technique in Demonic Contract, called Domi Reversi. This turns the target upside down as they sink, and bathes them completely in the magic circle. When they emerge from it, their personality is completely switched and they become an evil version of themselves. In other words, Domi Reversi turns them into the permanent slaves of Imu forever.

How Strong Is Imu's Domi Reversi?

Domi Reversi is very powerful as it grants various interesting abilities to the target. One of the abilities that Imu can give to the target is Immortality. This means they simply cannot die and even damaging them is very difficult. Secondly, they get a big strength boost. In Imu's own words, they are blessed with prodigious strength. At the same time, they forget all logic and reason and simply abide by what Imu says.

In simple words, it is a massive buff to the user in every way, and a power that makes them immortal as Imu's slave, all for the price of a piece of their lifespan.
