The idyllic life of the East Blue quickly fades as the Straw Hats enter the treacherous Grand Line. Before crossing the treacherous Reverse Mountain into the Grand Line, the Straw Hat Pirates stopped at Loguetown , where Luffy narrowly escaped execution, a moment that symbolizes the dangers that lie on the path to the Grand Line. In the Grand Line, the crew sailed to Alabasta, confronted by Baroque Works led by the ex-Warlord, Crocodile. The Alabasta arc was the crew's first big trial after leaving the East Blue. The princess of Alabasta, Vivi, joined hands with the Straw Hat pirates to free her kingdom from the bondage of Crocodile. The triumph in Alabasta, marked by the defeat of Crocodile and the liberation of the kingdom, was a major milestone that solidified the crew's reputation as protectors of justice.
