While bounties only got more rampant with Roger starting the Great Pirate Era, there were still, even before his speech, many pirates with incredible bounties. Roger himself had the highest known bounty in One Piece, after all. The Great Pirate Era gave rise to most of the highest bounties that fans have seen, but before this era, some extremely impressive rewards were still active.

Brook

The Musician of the Straw Hat Pirates

• Bounty: 33,000,000 Berries

Brook is currently one of the Straw Hat Pirates. But before his days as Luffy's crewmate, he was a Rumbar pirate. The Rumbar Pirates were active a long time before Roger was even a big shot in the One Piece world.

During Brook’s days with the Rumbar Pirates, he had a 33,000,000 berries bounty. Of course, fans know his bounty has gone up a lot with his travels alongside the Straw Hat Pirates in the current time. Right now, Brook’s bounty is 383,000,000 Berries, but this is long after the beginning of the Great Pirate Era.

Don Chinjao

A Former Pirate

• Bounty: 542,000,000 Berries

Don Chinjao was a character first introduced in the Dressrosa arc. While Chinjao had his history as a pirate, he is often overlooked by One Piece fans, despite him being a Conqueror Haki user. That is because he isn’t all that impressive. Nevertheless, during his pirate years, he had a 542,000,000 berries bounty, which is not bad at all.

Gill Buster

Former Member of the Rocks Pirates

• Bounty: 970,000,000 Berries (Potentially)

Gill Buster is one of Oda’s first character creations. This man first appeared in Oda’s one-shot, WANTED, far before he ever made it into One Piece. Now, however, fans know Gill Buster was a part of the Rocks Pirates.

While Oda never really confirmed Gill Buster’s bounty in One Piece, in the one-shot, WANTED, his bounty was said to be 970,000,000 in Oda’s initially invented currency, and it wouldn’t be far-fetched to say it’s a one-to-one equivalent with berries.

• Bounty: 100 Million Berries (Pre Correction), 1,800,000,000 Berries (Post Inflation Correction)

Dorry is at the helm of the Giant Warrior Pirates, a crew he is co-captain of with his partner, Brogy. Dorry and Brogy were stuck in Little Garden for 100 years due to their feud. Because of this long stay away from the rest of the world, Dorry’s bounty stayed at 100 million for a while. It was eventually corrected for inflation, which made it 1,800,000,000.

Brogy is the other captain of the Giant Warrior Pirates. Just like Dorry, Brogy boasts quite an impressive bounty, even though it didn’t look like it at first. Initially thought to be just a 100 million berries, fans quickly discovered this was due to inflation, and the true bounty was actually 1,800,000,000 berries, which is quite high. Together, Dorry and Brogy have a bounty comparable to a Yonko.

Whitebeard

The World’s Strongest Man

• Bounty: 5,046,000,000 Berries

Whitebeard is one of the most legendary figures of the One Piece world. He earned the title of World’s Strongest Man, and for a good reason. Whitebeard, with the Gura Gura no mi, could singlehandedly destroy the world.

He was once a part of the Rocks Pirates, and he was quite notorious, even back then. It didn’t stop there for him, as he only went forward from there with the Whitebeard Pirates, earning him a well-deserved 5,046,000,000 berries bounty.

Roger

The Pirate King

• Bounty: 5,564,800,000 Berries

The Pirate King himself, Gol D. Roger, holds the highest known bounty that predates the new pirate era. This is, of course, not very surprising. After all, Roger did the impossible. He sailed and conquered the Grand Line, and finally found the One Piece.

Through his adventures, Roger uncovered the truth of the One Piece world, making him a huge danger. His power, notoriety, and knowledge make it so that his 5,564,800,000 berries are more than reasonable. The only pirate from his era who could possibly have a higher bounty than him is Rocks, but that bounty remains unknown.
