This article contains spoilers from One Piece's Elbaf arc.
Summary
- Haki is needed for the crew to become top-tier pirates in Elbaf.
- Some members, like Nami and Chopper, may get Observation Haki.
- Robin, Brook, and Franky might develop Armament Haki.
One Piece's Elbaf arc is absolutely massive for the Straw Hat Pirates for many reasons, the biggest of which is the fact that the group is going to evolve and reach the next level, officially solidifying themselves as a Yonko crew in the eyes of the fans here. Fans already know that Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji are incredibly powerful.
One Piece: Oda Has Already Revealed The Devil Fruit That Can Beat Imu
Imu is powerful, but he has one fatal weakness in One Piece.
Jinbe, too, is a very strong fighter, and that much is clear to One Piece readers. However, the rest of the crew needs to get stronger and they'll do so in Elbaf. Oda has already hinted at the Straw Hat Pirates awakening Haki in Elbaf, and each character will likely get access to a different type.
Why The Straw Hats Need Haki In Elbaf
- The Holy Knights Are Immortal
- Haki Holds The Key To Damaging Them
The Straw Hat Pirates are incredibly powerful and there is absolutely no denying that. However, they are not the finished product just yet. Among them, only Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, and Jinbe have proven themselves to be top-tier pirates, and the others still have work to do. What sets them apart from the rest is the fact that they don't use Haki. If the Straw Hat Pirates are to establish themselves as a top-tier crew, they need more Haki users and that's why Elbaf is as important as it is.
To never doubt, that is true strength! — Rayleigh teaching Haki to Luffy
In Elbaf, Oda has introduced the Holy Knights, and beating them certainly doesn't seem to be easy. They can regenerate infinitely, although there is a key to damaging them. So far, Oda hasn't explicitly stated what the way to damage them is. But, fans know that it has something to do with Haki, given that Emet used Conqueror's Haki to counter the regeneration and the powers of the Elders. Since the Holy Knights have the same power, it is only logical to assume that the Straw Hat Pirates, who are heavily involved in the battle against them, will get Haki.
Which Straw Hats Will Get Observation Haki?
Nami And Chopper Might Get The Color of Observation
Not every member of the crew will defeat a Holy Knight, and that's a given, since there are only three of them in Elbaf at the moment. As such, not all members of the Straw Hat Pirates will get Armament Haki. Nami and Chopper will likely gain access to Observation Haki, if any Haki at all. The reason is simply that they are not capable enough to defeat a Holy Knight on their own.
One Piece: Oda Has Already Revealed A New Haki Type
Oda reveals a new type of haki that can counter the immortality of the Holy Knights in One Piece.
I'm trying to figure out their weakness. — Jinbe to the Straw Hats
The Straw Hats Who Might Get Armament Haki
Brook, Robin, and Franky Lead The Line
As far as Armament Haki goes, three Straw Hat Pirates might get it, and they're Brook, Robin, and Franky. Out of all three, it is highly likely that Robin will get it first, since she's the one who seems to be in combat against Sommers. The other two may or may not get it here, but it would definitely be a good addition to their arsenal.
Will Straw Hat Will Awaken Conqueror's Haki?
Sanji Is The Only Candidate
Finally, when it comes to Conqueror's Haki, Sanji is the only one in the crew who can gain access to this power. Sanji is destined to get Conqueror's Haki eventually, but that may not necessarily happen in Elbaf. Eventually, it will happen, and fans need to prepare themselves for his exciting battles in the future.
