This post contains spoilers for One Piece.
One Piece is about to reach a critical juncture, and all eyes are on Oda. Fans are eager to know how the Elbaf arc will reach its conclusion. So far, Oda has released over 40 chapters of the arc, and nearly all of them have been impressive. Not only did they disclose details about One Piece characters in the current timeline, but they also shared information pertaining to some legends from the bygone era.
One Piece: Elbaf's Next Ruler, Explained
With King Harald dead, fans have been debating who is going to be the next king of Elbaf after the arc comes to an end!
While it's difficult to choose just one standout character, most fans agree that Prince Loki is certainly the most interesting one. From his very first appearance, Loki drew the attention of fans. They wanted to learn about Loki's past and his strength. Thankfully, Oda gave them exactly what they wanted.
Loki Is The Hero Who Saved Elbaf
- Loki was forced to kill his own father
- Loki took the entire blame to protect Harald's legacy
Initially, Loki was presented as the man who killed his father, Harald, the greatest king of Elbaf. Loki was said to have murdered Harald in Aurest Castle several decades prior to the current timeline. On the surface, it seemed that Loki was a horrible person who deserved every bit of contempt from the citizens of Elbaf. After all, Harald was the best monarch they had ever had. But most fans knew that there was something off about Loki being the killer of his father, and they were proven correct when Oda started the flashback, in which he revealed what exactly transpired in Aurest Castle on that fateful day.
Don't speak a word of what happened here today!!
It was revealed that Loki was forced to kill Harald to save Elbaf from being ruined. Harald had been taken for a ride by Imu and the Five Elders, who had successfully convinced him that the sins of the Giants could be forgiven. The Five Elders acted on Imu's orders and asked Harald to do their bidding. The latter believed then and started obeying the commands. Ultimately, he was given the Depths Covenant. After that, he returned to Elbaf. Harald had no idea that he had been deceived by Imu, and by the time he realized it, it was too late. The Depths Covenant ensured total obedience from the recipient towards Imu, so Harald had no other choice but to do as asked.
Fearing that Elbaf would fall into chaos, Harald quickly summoned Loki and Jarul. The King of Elbaf asked his son to eat the legendary Devil Fruit and use its power to kill him. Loki was flabbergasted but had no other choice. After a short tussle with Ragnir, Loki consumed the Devil Fruit and returned to Harald's location. Loki was still unsure, but his father reassured him that it was the right thing to do. With tears flowing down his face, Loki killed Harald and saved Elbaf.
Loki Will Join The Straw Hat Pirates
Loki's Addition Will Destroy The Dynamic Of The Monster Trio
When Loki's story was over, fans were shocked to learn that he had endured so much. However, things are about to change for the better for Loki. Fans may recall that Luffy has already asked Loki to join the Straw Hat Pirates, and as expected, the latter turned down the offer. But the rejection is going to stop Luffy from trying again. After all, that's how he recruited a lot of his crew members. So, there's no reason to assume that the same can't happen again. However, Luffy will likely wait until the conclusion of the battle between the Holy Knights and the rest of Elbaf before asking Loki again.
If Loki accepts the proposal, it will officially spell the end of the Monster Trio. Since Loki is stronger than Zoro and Sanji, he will displace them from their positions, which will bring an end to the Monster Trio. The only way to keep things as they are is by giving Zoro and Sanji new power-ups so that they can maintain their positions. However, it seems unlikely that Oda will do so immediately. It is also possible that Loki could be like Oden for the Straw Hat Pirates. Oden sailed with the Roger Pirates for a long time, but Rayleigh and Gaban maintained their respective status even though they were weaker than the samurai.

Currently, everyone's focus is on Imu (inside Gunko's body), Shepherd Sommers, and Killingham. All three are extraordinary fighters who have the power to wipe out an army with ease. On top of their strength, they are also immortal and possess immense regeneration, which makes it nearly impossible to beat them. But Scopper Gaban has already disclosed that there is a way to stop the regeneration, and it requires Conqueror's Haki. Luckily, Luffy, Zoro, Loki, and Gaban have it.
The Battle For Elbaf Rages On
Fans already know the strength of Gaban, Luffy, and Zoro, so all eyes will be on Loki and what he's capable of. In theory, Loki is one of the strongest characters in One Piece, as he has managed to beat Harald, whose strength had been further amplified by the Depths Covenant. Based on this showing alone, it's safe to say that Loki should have absolutely no problems with demolishing any Holy Knight. Loki's Ragnir is obviously an incredible weapon, but his biggest asset is the legendary Devil Fruit. For now, it is unclear what kind of Devil Fruit Loki has, but it's bound to be extremely powerful. In addition to Luffy's group, there are other individuals in Elbaf who are more than capable of making a valuable contribution to the victory.
Best One Piece Games, Ranked
From Musuo to lengthy JRPGs and even an open-world, the best One Piece games have a lot to offer fans of the manga and anime.
One of the first names that leaps to mind is that of Sanji. He has helped the Straw Hats multiple times to get out of tricky situations, so there's no reason for him not to do something similar. While Sanji does not have Conqueror's Haki, he is still a phenomenal combatant who is more than capable of holding his own.
Brook Is Going To Play An Important Role In Elbaf
In addition to Sanji, it seems that Oda has big plans for Brook, who is linked to Gunko's past. In the latest chapter, Brook seemed to have recognized Gunko, as he kept calling her Princess Shuri. Initially, it didn't seem to have any effect, but there was a moment when Gunko took control of her body, which allowed Brook to wriggle free. However, Imu regained control and began attacking Brook once again.
Additionally, it will be interesting to see what the Holy Knights will do as their ship has been destroyed. Without a ship, they cannot take the children from Elbaf. So, they will either have to find a replacement or try to eradicate Elbaf from existence. Imu has already stated that Elbaf is 'D,' so they would have absolutely no qualms about eradicating the country from the map.
