When it comes to absolute monsters that exist in the One Piece world wielding phenomenal strength, Kaido is a name that often comes up. Known to be the Captain of the Beast Pirates, Kaido was properly introduced to the fans in the post-timeskip of One Piece. He served as one of the Four Emperors of the Sea and possessed insurmountable strength. The power of Kaido was absolutely overwhelming, and his incredible brutality and overall strength earned him a bounty of over 4.6 billion berries.

While Kaido was the epitome of strength in One Piece until recently, fans know that he has now been surpassed by new characters that have appeared in the Final Saga. In fact, one particular character that Oda has recently introduced in the Final Saga is so strong that he rivals the legends of the One Piece world, such as Harald, Rocks, and even Roger. This individual is none other than the Accursed Prince of Elbaf, Loki, whose powers are absolutely monstrous and far greater than those of Kaido.

When it comes to Kaido's monstrous strength, fans know very well that he possessed tremendous abilities up his sleeve. First of all, Kaido was specifically known to be the strongest creature alive in the world. This is because he wielded the power of the Mythical Zoan Eastern Dragon and this gave him a great advantage in battles. Kaido's Eastern Dragon ability allowed him to manipulate the weather to a certain extent. He could manipulate wind and cause giant storms, or he could control lightning, and he even had fire at his disposal.
With all these powers, Kaido was almost unstoppable, but, the biggest ability that he received from his devil fruit was his nigh invulnerability. Kaido possessed an armor so tough that it could not be penetrated by the vast majority of the characters. Only those wielding advanced Conqueror's Haki could truly injure Kaido, and that is what made him very special. Coupled with this was the fact that Kaido had his physical attributes boosted to an entirely new level with his Devil Fruit, and that also made him very difficult for anyone to take on in combat.
Then, one also needs to consider the fact that Kaido was a user of all three forms of Advanced Haki, and with these powers, he was almost impossible to stop. Despite all that, Kaido has officially been surpassed in One Piece by Loki, the Accursed Prince of Elbaf. While fans did not expect Loki to be over Kaido's power level at first, it has now become abundantly clear that his overall strength is absolutely tremendous.

Fans might be wondering as to how Loki has managed to surpass Kaido. The answer to that question is quite clearly shown in One Piece Chapter 1170. In this particular chapter, fans got to see the incredibly intense battle between Loki and King Harald of Elbaf. For months, this battle of One Piece was highly anticipated, and it certainly blew away the fans by revealing the true strength of Loki.
At the beginning of the chapter, fans got to see a clash between Loki and Ragnir, a hammer who seems to have eaten his own Devil Fruit. Later down the line, Loki also acquired a powerful legendary Devil Fruit, and when these two things were put together, the answer to how Loki surpassed Kaido became quite clear.
Loki Wields The Power Of Ragnir
The strength of Ragnir itself was such that it was able to give Loki a run for his money. In other words, the hammer itself is a top-tier tier in the One Piece world, withstanding blows from powerful Conqueror's Haki and shattering weapons coated in this powerful haki form. Ragnir itself is an elite top tier of the One Piece world, and now, its powers belong to Loki.

It must be noted that Ragnir has not accepted many people in the last few centuries, with Loki being the only one that it has finally accepted due to his true nature. Ragnir's strength was such that even Harald was not able to eat the legendary Devil Fruit of Elbaf, and that's quite a fearsome feat for anyone.
Loki's Biggest Strength Is Elbaf's Legendary Devil Fruit
Of course, Loki's biggest strength is the legendary Devil Fruit of Elbaf. This Devil Fruit was sought after by the vast majority of Elbaf Kings, but not even Harald could eat it, because Ragnir was always guarding it. Ragnir did not deem Harald worthy before, but Harald believed that after receiving the Covenant power-up from Imu, he would be deemed worthy. Unfortunately for him, Loki ate this Devil Fruit and immediately transformed into a giant creature.
At the very least, it can be said with certainty that Loki's Devil Fruit is a Mythical Zoan type and that it grants him tremendous strength. Loki fought against Harald in One Piece Chapter 1170, and much to the surprise of the fans, he was able to overpower the King and eventually even kill him. Of course, Harald allowed Loki the chance to kill him when he got back to his senses, but it was Loki's incredibly powerful beating that brought him to his senses in the first place.

For context, Roger and Garp together struggled to overwhelm Rocks in combat, yet Loki was able to do it effortlessly. In simple words, Loki is so strong that he is on the same level as the likes of Rocks, Harald, Roger, Garp, and of course, Whitebeard. In fact, a case can be made for him to be stronger than quite a few of these legendary figures, but that is an argument for another day.
At the very least, it can be said that Loki is most certainly stronger than Kaido. Just the way the giants describe him is enough to know that he can easily surpass Kaido in overall power. Loki is said to hold the power to destroy the entire world if unchained.
Even Gaban, who himself is stronger than Kaido, stated that freeing Loki is something that not even the wicked would dare to do. Loki's portrayal as well as the display of his strength are great enough to justify him being stronger than Kaido, and at this point, it is a fact that fans should very well accept.
