Some One Piece Fans Are Upset At Robin In The Newest Chapter

Robin Did Not Try to Fight Sommers

One Piece 1146, the newest One Piece chapter, was quite incredible, but at the same time, somewhat controversial in the One Piece fandom. This chapter unveils just how powerful the Holy Knights are, and some fans seem to not have grasped that just yet.

In this chapter, Sommers, one of the Holy Knights on Elbaf who possesses the Thorn Devil Fruit was in action. He attacked and took down Jaguar D. Saul, Nico Robin’s friend since she was a child. Robin had just reunited with Saul after decades of thinking he had died back in Ohara when the Buster Call was made.

Instead of helping Saul, Robin, accompanied by Chopper, hid inside of his hair. This has upset many fans. Some fans would have expected Robin to get out and defend her friend.

While this might make sense on paper, fans seem to underestimate how strong Sommers is. Sommers and the other Holy Knights are far stronger than Yonko Commanders and possibly comparable to the Admirals in their power, if not stronger. So, expecting Robin to do anything is simply ridiculous. This is especially true as she doesn’t even possess haki. Hiding was the best option for her, as she would have gotten captured by the Holy Knights immediately. Robin’s knowledge makes her a very sought-after target, so she made the best choice by staying concealed.

Fans Are Also Upset At Other Straw Hat Pirates

Jinbe Was Easily Overpowered by Gunko

The controversy in this chapter doesn’t just stop at Robin, as fans were also upset at other Straw Hat Pirates members being unable to take on someone of the power level of a Holy Knight.

In the same chapter, Gunko, another member of the Holy Knights, goes after four Straw Hats, and absolutely destroys them. The Straw Hat that fans are the most upset about here is none other than Jinbe. Jinbe is a top-tier fighter in the Straw Hat pirates, only surpassed by the Monster Trio, and even he got dealt with easily.

This isn’t because he is weak or useless, it’s simply because the Holy Knights are that powerful. The Holy Knights are undefeatable right now, as they can infinitely regenerate. Even Luffy can’t win against them right now with his current knowledge of Haki. So, being upset at Jinbe is definitely not sensible.
