The Recent One Piece Episode Causes A Lot Of Controversy

One Piece’s recent episode, One Piece episode 1127, featured the best parts of the battle between Luffy and Kizaru, a highly anticipated fight and one of the best in Egghead overall.
One Piece fans were definitely impressed with the incredible animation and direction of the episode, but huge controversies have been brewing.
The latest controversy with this episode revolves around one of the well-known animators who often works on One Piece, Vincent Chansard. Vincent talked on his Twitter account about how he believed Luffy wasn’t really taking the fight seriously and was just holding off Kizaru for the most part, stating that Luffy had Kizaru in an inconvenient situation multiple times.
This is what he said exactly:
“At this point in the story, Luffy isn't really trying to beat Kizaru he's just stalling him. He's dodging, teasing, keeping things light, only pulling out a named attack once Kiki actually manages to land a hit. He literally at several points in the fight held kizaru in his palm.” — Chansard Vincent
This part is just a small part of a long thread posted by him on his X account @Sparkleredpanda where he talks about One Piece episode 1127. He spoke of the ideas he had about the fight, as well as how he delivered the final product. The thread is very insightful.
That said, many fans were quite upset with this specific comment, and took it too far, with many even sending this animator threats.
What upset people so much is that they saw this as the animator making his own conclusions about something they think Oda has never stated.
Many fans find the claim ridiculous and nonsensical, and many use the arguments that later on, Kizaru fed Luffy to help him recover, or that Luffy would be putting his crew in danger by doing so.
This Is The Best Written Character In One Piece, & It's Not A Straw Hat
Bartholomew Kuma is undoubtedly the best-written character in One Piece.
While the argument is intriguing, what the animator said isn't wrong at all. Through Egghead, Luffy states on multiple occasions that his goal is to keep Kizaru away from the crew and escape. Luffy isn't fighting to win, and neither is Kizaru. As such, Luffy never once went all-out Vs Kizaru, which means Vincent’s understanding of the situation is actually spot-on.
Fans are being too harsh with the animator, especially as his assumption isn’t a wrong one. The Yonko are most definitely superior to the Admirals, and Luffy outshines Kizaru in this battle. What later had Luffy struggling was not Kizaru, but the Five Elders, and even that was down to their immortality.
Whether fans agree with this or not, they should remember to not harass staff working on the One Piece anime just because they don’t like something. This is only going to push animators away from showcasing their thoughts on social media.
