This post contains spoilers for One Piece.
One Piece Episode 1140 started with the Marines trying to put sea stone cuffs on Luffy. They believed that the Yonko didn't have enough energy to move or hurt them, making it the perfect opportunity. But Luffy was a step ahead of them, and he digested all the food quickly, subsequently using Gear 5th to overwhelm them.
Elsewhere, Sanji and Vegapunk were trying to save Bonney and Kuma from annihilation. Vegapunk contacted Atlas and asked her to tell Bonney about the contingency plan. Atlas wasted no time telling Bonney, and the latter shouted at the top of her voice, asking the Pacifista to stop. It was revealed that Vegapunk had put in a system within the Pacifista that propelled them to protect Bonney.
'Toei Fumbled': One Piece Fans Are Furious With Episode 1140
One Piece fans were disappointed with the quality of Episode 1140.
Luffy Finally Returns In One Piece Episode 1140
After the Pacifista began destroying the Marine vessels, Saturn realized that Vegapunk had something to do with it. So, he stabbed the scientist through the chest with one of his limbs. Next, the Godhead ordered Kizaru to kill Bonney and Kuma. Sanji tried to stop Kizaru, but the Admiral was one step ahead. Just when things were about to get worse, Luffy punched Kizaru and sent him flying. Luffy's return was marked by the sound of the Drums of Liberation, and Bonney realized that he was Nika, the Warrior of Liberation, who would rescue her. The rhythm emanating from Luffy's heartbeat caused the Iron Giant's eyes to light up.
Towards the end of the episode, Dorry and Brogy made their return. The co-captains of the Giant Warrior Pirates traveled to Egghead Island because of Luffy. They knew Luffy's importance, which is why they couldn't just stand idly by while the World Government tried to exterminate him.
One Piece Episode 1140 wasn't perfect by any means, and there were several things that Toei Animation needs to improve on. The scene where Bonney saw Nika for the first time was poorly done. Additionally, some of the scenes involving Sanji were changed for no apparent reason. Hopefully, the studio will be more careful in the future.
