This post contains spoilers for One Piece.

One Piece Episode 1139 marked the beginning of the Egghead Island buster call. After the completion of Bartholomew Kuma's flashback, the story shifted to the current day, Egghead Island, where Saint. Jaygarcia Saturn is planning the annihilation of Vegapunk and the Straw Hats.

Initially, it seemed that Saturn would be content with just killing Vegapunk and satellites, but Kuma's rebellion seems to have angered the Godhead of Defense and Science.

The Egghead Island Buster Call Begins

One Piece Episode 1139 was certainly good, but it was the new opening that stole the headlines. Some fans were unhappy with the opening because it contained spoilers for the Egghead Island Arc. One of the people involved with the project warned non-manga readers to expect a lot of spoilers in the opening. The opinion is certainly divided on the new opinion, but everyone unanimously agrees that it has breathtaking visuals.

Revoke the order, St. Saturn. —Vegapunk

Coming back to the episode itself, Saint. Jaygarcia Saturn ordered to begin the Buster Call, which led to utter chaos on Egghead Island. Vegapunk begged Saturn to reverse his decision, as the destruction of the island would set back humanity at least a hundred years in terms of scientific advancements. However, Saturn had no problem with erasing a century's worth of knowledge, especially when the World Government conveniently hid the truth about the Void Century.

Vegapunk even offered his life in exchange for the island's safety, but once again Saturn wasn't satisfied. When the Buster Call commenced, the cannonballs were targeting everything in the urban area of Egghead Island, including the Marines that were left behind. Saturn also ordered Kizaru to finish the job, which meant killing Vegapunk. The Admiral was visibly distraught at the idea of murdering his old friend. In order to buy some time, Kizaru went after the capsule carrying Atlas, Bonney, Franky, and Kuma. He used a light sword to slice through the tube, which caused the capsule to be propelled into the air. Subsequently, Saturn ordered the Pacifista to shoot at Bonney, but Kuma immediately grabbed her. He held Bonney close to himself, which shows how much the former Shichibukai loves her.

  • The new episode will reveal Bonney and Kuma's fate

One Piece Episode 1140 will be released on August 17, 2025. The episode will be titled, "An Admired Hero - The Warrior of Liberation Who Saves Bonney." One Piece Episode 1140 will feature the return of Luffy and his Gear 5th. The pirate has been out of action ever since his fight with Kizaru. Luffy would have stayed immobile if the Admiral hadn't given him food. Now that he is stuffed, the Supernova can go all out and start using his full power.

Luffy's Gear 5th is the pinnacle of his strength, and it can easily change the tide of any battle. His return in the next episode will be rather iconic as it will be the first time Bonney and Kuma will see Nika, the hero that they admired for years. The first thing that Luffy needs to do is use his powers to rescue Kuma and Bonney from the attack of Pacifista.

In the previous episode, fans learned that someone destroyed the warship sent by Saturn to stop the ship that left Egghead a day prior. The culprits weren't shown, but the preview for Episode 1140 dropped a major hint about their identity. The people behind the attack are none other than Dorry and Brogy, the captains of the Giant Warrior Pirates. It's likely that their next destination is Egghead Island, and they'll play an important role in the Straw Hats' escape from the island.
