Judging by all the contextual clues and analysis that fans have made regarding the character, everything seems to point to the fact that Monkey D. Dragon is going to be one of the most powerful and important characters in the series. Fans have already chalked him up to being a user of Advanced Conqueror's Haki, mainly due to him having some of the greatest ambitions in the entire series, since he wants to change the entire world order and is the leader of the Revolutionary Army.
His strength is also deliberately being kept a secret for as long as possible by Oda, which could allude to the fact that his power is set to be otherworldly, and that he will be one of the franchise's strongest characters. This is where the topic of his potential Devil Fruit comes in. Fans have been debating about what these powers could be ever since he gave a brief showing of them during the events of the Loguetown arc.
