This article contains spoilers for the One Piece series.
Devil Fruits are mystical fruits that grant tremendous powers in the world of One Piece. They are diverse, and each one offers a unique power in One Piece. Categorized into three main types, Devil Fruits have cemented themselves as one of One Piece’s most important elements, even with the existence of Haki.
One Piece: 8 Strongest Haki Users In God Valley, Ranked
God Valley showcased some of One Piece's strongest characters, and these had some of the best haki.
Some Devil Fruits are average, while others are good, but they're all beneficial to those who eat them. Some, however, are so powerful that they can turn an average individual into a Yonko-level threat. Such Devil Fruits include the likes of the Gura Gura no Mi, which can destroy the world, or Imu’s Devil Fruit which has shown powerful one-shot abilities.
Imu’s Devil Fruit
- User: Imu
- Type: Unknown
Imu made an entrance on Elbaf, and immediately, fans got their first look at their Devil Fruit power. Imu can take control of people, and when they do, they get a demonic appearance. With this power, Imu can use the Power of Evil and turn others into demons. Essentially, Imu can turn foes into allies — all with an ability known as Domi Reversi.
Imu can also use magic, as they are seen using a spell book and showcasing insane feats with it. Imu’s Devil Fruit is so strong that its powers can even affect One Piece’s strong characters, such as Dorry and Brogy, or even Rocks D. Xebec.
Yami Yami no Mi
- User: Blackbeard
- Type: Logia
The Yami Yami no Mi is no normal Devil Fruit. It’s a Logia, but it doesn’t allow its user to turn into darkness or even bypass the damage hurled at them. In fact, its user actually takes double the damage. This might seem like a bad Devil Fruit, but in return for these weaknesses, it grants one the ultimate ability, and that's the power to cancel out other Devil Fruit powers.
This Devil Fruit was consumed by Blackbeard, and he went to great lengths to get his hands on it, even killing his crewmate. This goes to show just how valuable this fruit is, and the big role it has to play in the final saga.
Gura Gura no Mi
- User: Blackbeard, Whitebeard (Formerly)
- Type: Paramecia
The strongest Paramecia to exist in the One Piece world is most definitely the Gura Gura no Mi, or the Tremor Tremor Fruit. This overpowered Paramecia grants enough power to its user to destroy the world. It can create large earthquakes and even tsunamis with vibrations. In a world like One Piece, no other Devil Fruit has the same destructive powers as this one.
The Gura Gura no Mi has only been in the possession of the Yonko. Its first known user was none other than Whitebeard, and he was known as the Strongest Man in the World thanks to it. Its second user is Blackbeard, and he too is a Yonko.
Magu Magu no Mi
- User: Akainu
- Type: Logia
The Magu Magu no Mi is, undoubtedly, one of the best Logia Devil Fruits out there. The Magu Magu no Mi grants its users the ability to create, turn into, and control magma at will, and in the One Piece world, there’s nothing hotter than that.
One Piece: 8 Characters So Strong They're Beyond Yonko Level
The Yonko are strong, but there are characters even beyond their level in One Piece.
Its current user is none other than Fleet Admiral Akainu, and Oda has previously stated that if he were the main character, he would’ve found the One Piece already. This goes to show the strong abilities this Devil Fruit grants.
Uo Uo no Mi, Model: Seiryu
- User: Kaido, Momonosuke (SMILE)
- Type: Mythical Zoan
Uo Uo no Mi, Model: Seiryu is one of the best Devil Fruits fans have seen in full action. This Mythical Zoan Devil Fruit allows its users to turn into an eastern dragon.
With this transformation, the user gets extremely tough skin, and destructive fire-breathing powers, as well as control over elements like wind and lightning. This Devil Fruit was so powerful that it was one of the awards during God Valley. Its real user is Kaido, and fans have seen just how powerful he was in Wano. Momonosuke has the SMILE version of this fruit, and he is already quite strong. He will reach new highs with it in the Final Saga.
Mero Mero No Mi
- User: Boa Hancock
- Type: Paramecia
If there’s one Devil Fruit that is often underestimated by fans, it’s the Mero Mero no Mi, or the Love Love fruit. This Paramecia Devil Fruit is extremely broken, and it allows its user to one-shot most of their enemies and turn them into stone. This works if they show any positive feelings towards the user, or even if they don't but only upon physical contact.
This Devil Fruit is currently in the possession of Pirate Empress Boa Hancock, and its abilities are so overpowered that Blackbeard himself didn’t want to fight her head-on and admitted she would’ve beaten him if he was not careful. The Mero Mero no Mi has already proven to be able to take down a Yonko in one hit, given an opening. Furthermore, Blackbeard wanted this fruit for himself, and he only goes after the very best.
One Piece's next chapter will be out this week. As usual, One Piece is going to drop on Sunday. In Japan, One Piece drops at 12AM JST on Monday. However, the vast majority of international readers will see the chapter available on November 2. Fans can read the chapter for free on Manga Plus.
