The Cross Guild is one of the most important factions in the world of One Piece currently. Although it is an organization that was formed very recently, it has already attacked the integrity of the World Government and has made waves across the world. One of the most interesting things about the Cross Guild is the fact that they have their own bounty system in place and that has already affected the world of One Piece quite severely.

While fans did not have much idea about this bounty system until recently, now, with the ongoing events in the Egghead Island arc, more information has been revealed about how these bounties work and who gets assigned how much. Fans finally know some of the biggest bounties that have been issued by the Cross Guild and it appears the bounty system is actually fairly interesting.

The Conception Of The Cross Guild

Cross Guild One Piece 1058

The Cross Guild came into being shortly after the events of the Reverie concluded. On the 4th day of the Reverie, it is believed that everything major that happened during this meeting unraveled. The Revolutionary Army fought against the Marine Admirals and, at the same time, the decision to strip the Seven Warlords of the Sea of their power and status was also made. They were replaced by Vegapunk's latest creation, which was also modeled on the Seven Warlords, known as the Seraphims. The Seraphims are surely capable of replacing the Warlords, however, the Warlords themselves would not just become obsolete.

These pirates have been a part of the power balance of the One Piece world and one of the Three Great Powers. It would have been stupid to expect them to simply die off and not retaliate. It didn't come as a surprise to the fans when it was announced that some of the former Warlords had joined forces and created a completely new organization called the Cross Guild. The Cross Guild is led by none other than Buggy, although he found his way into power through absolute luck. Buggy is also considered one of the Four Emperors of the Sea now and he has a bounty of 3.189 billion berries on his head.

At the same time, the Cross Guild also has some other powerful former Warlords of the Sea and these include Dracule Mihawk, the man who holds the title of the World's Strongest Swordsman and has a bounty of 3.590 billion berries, and Sir Crocodile, the man who was the mastermind behind Arabasta's civil war and he has a bounty of 1.965 billion berries on his head. These three are at the core of the Cross Guild, however, there are many other powerful pirates in their ranks, and the allies that they have only make things much worse for their enemies.

The Bounties Placed By The Cross Guild

The Cross Guild has very interesting goals, however, at the same time, they are simple goals that one would expect an organization like that to have. Taking into consideration the fact that the Cross Guild is made up of former Warlords of the Sea who, at one point, enjoyed peace and security, it would make sense for them to want to regain that once again. Essentially, the goal of the members of the Cross Guild is to establish a force of power so magnificent that even the World Government cannot stand a chance against them and, in doing so, they would form a pirate haven.

If they cannot be challenged, that would mean that they can spend their time in peace and that appears to be the goal of the likes of Dracule Mihawk and Sir Crocodile. However, Buggy takes things a level beyond. Buggy wants to aim for the One Piece and has already declared that the Cross Guild is also going for the grand treasure now.

At the same time, the Cross Guild has also affected the already turbulent era of the One Piece world greatly. This is because they have exacted revenge on the Marines by placing bounties on their heads. Up until now, only pirates were hunted in the One Piece world and the Government were the ones who issued these bounties, leading famous bounty hunters and even Marines to hunt them down and claim the rewards on their heads.

Now, the hunter has become the hunted as the Marines have high bounties on their heads as well. The Cross Guild is willing to pay anyone who secures these people and that, in itself, has harmed both the reputation and the safety of the Marines greatly. Now, there doesn't seem to be much of a difference between Marines and pirates in the One Piece world, and that only raises the tension between these two factions.

The Bounty System Of The Cross Guild

The bounty system of the Cross Guild is very interesting. Fans found out about it only recently, however, it is actually fairly decent. The bounty system that fans are used to is very different from the one that Cross Guild uses. For instance, the World Government simply assigns a specific reward to any pirate or outlaw. In the case of Luffy, he was given a 30 million beri bounty after he defeated Arlong and this bounty has, since then, risen to 3 billion berries.

The Cross Guild's bounty system works in a very different manner. Instead of putting exact figures on the heads of powerful people, they simply put stars. One star is equal to 100 million berries and the more stars a person has, the higher their bounty is. For instance, Koby has a five-star bounty on his head and that means that he is worth 500 million berries. Anyone capturing Koby and sending him over to the Cross Guild would secure themselves 500 million worth of treasure chests.

Stars are certainly not the only way to measure bounty when it comes to the Cross Guild system. Those who are stronger and are worthy of a billion berries or more have a bounty that is measured with Crowns. One Crown equals a billion berries and the more the crowns, the higher their bounty. It was recently revealed in One Piece that Garp was given a bounty of three Crowns and that means he has a bounty of 3 billion berries on his head. All the Admirals of the Navy also have a three-Crown bounty, meaning their rewards also equals 3 billion berries, which puts them on level with the likes of Luffy.

Curiously, this Bounty system is better in a way as it puts all the Admirals of the Navy and the legendary figures on the same pedestal, as long as they are around relative power levels. In the case of the Yonko, every single Yonko has a different bounty and this often leads one to wonder which one of them is stronger. Although bounties don't have everything to do with strength, it does lead to toxic discussions. With the Cross Guild bounty system, Oda seems to have ironed this out by assigning bounties that are essentially equal to one another.

Fans do not know if there is a marine bounty that is higher than 3 billion berries yet. While Garp does have a 3 billion bounty, it must be remembered that he is very old and beyond his prime right now. In the Marines, the strongest of them all right now would be the Fleet Admiral Sakazuki. It wouldn't be a surprise for the fans if Sakazuki has a 4 Crown bounty, which would equate to 4 billion berries. For now, nothing has been confirmed, however, fans have their eyes on the bounty system of the Cross Guild and are already very intrigued by it. The Cross Guild is sure to play a major role in One Piece down the line and with the story already in the Final Saga, wars are supposed to break out very soon, which means the Cross Guild will certainly be involved heavily in these wars as well.
