Tony Tony Chopper is one of the most important characters in One Piece. This means that Eiichiro Oda has to be very careful when designing his many outfits.
One Piece: Sanji's Best Outfits, Ranked
Sanji from One Piece has proven himself to be an incredibly fashionable character; here are the best outfits he has worn.
Over the course of several years and many different arcs, Chopper has worn a large variety of different clothes. Some of them made him look cute, others made him look intimidating, and some have managed to make him look cute and intimidating at the same time. But what are Chopper’s best outfits in One Piece so far?
8 Post-Timeskip Outfit
An Iconic New Look With An Emotional Secret
- Worn In: Return to Sabaody Arc and Fish-Man Island Arc
Like every other member of the Straw Hat Pirates, the young reindeer got the opportunity to hone his skills as a doctor and become stronger during the 2 year timeskip. So, when he eventually reunited with his friends, he presented a charming new look.
For his adventure through the New World, Chopper begins wearing an adorable striped shirt and orange pants that perfectly complement each other. At first, it may seem like he replaced the pink hat that Dr. Hiriluk gave him with a new one, but Oda actually revealed that he’s just wearing a second blue hat over the original one. This detail is as adorable as it is heartwarming.
7 Monkey Outfit
Clever And Adorable At The Same Time
- Worn In: One Piece Film: Gold
There’s a really fun tradition in the One Piece franchise, especially within non-canon material, to have Chopper wear clothing that makes him resemble other animals. This is a brilliant concept that makes the reindeer look even more adorable and also conveys his obvious animal theme.
One of these themed outfits can be seen at the beginning of the movie, One Piece Film: Gold, in which Chopper wears delightful clothes that make him look like a monkey. The hooded coat looks comfortable, and the ears and tail are nice additional details. As a result of this solid design - and to no one’s surprise - Toei Animation has created merchandise of Chopper wearing this very same outfit.
6 Cow Outfit
One Of Chopper’s Most Adorable Looks
- Worn In: One Piece Film: Z
At the beginning of One Piece Film: Z, Chopper wears a cow-themed outfit, which has become a favorite among fans over the years. For starters, the choice of animal this time around makes a lot more sense, since both reindeers and cows are ruminant herbivores.
This outfit is truly one of Toei Animation’s most brilliant creations, seeing as Chopper’s hat is supposed to resemble a cow’s head, complete with the horns and even the nose ring. This is undoubtedly one of his most adorable looks yet, especially since the animators also made him drink milk while wearing it during a scene, which is a really amusing detail.
5 Egghead Outfit
A Bright And Colorful Outfit With A Futuristic Style
- Worn In: Egghead Arc
Chopper and his crewmates had to wear a new set of clothes during their adventure on Egghead Island. And while the combination of space helmet, goggles, and visor is certainly unique, it somehow works and even makes Chopper look both like an astronaut and a character from an old anime series, like Astro Boy. It also resembles Mega Man's original design.
These references are definitely intentional, since Egghead Island has a captivating, retro-futuristic style, and Chopper’s new attire helps him fit seamlessly within this fantastical location. But the biggest surprise about this outfit is that it looked even better on Chopper when he was in his full reindeer form, which is quite rare for him.
4 Zou Outfit
Looking Like True Royalty
- Worn In: Zou Arc
The island of Zou is a natural fit for Chopper, since it’s the home of the Minks, a tribe made up entirely of anthropomorphic animals just like him. And if that wasn’t enough, the young doctor saved their lives by treating everybody who was injured by Jack’s ruthless attacks. They later gave him this stunning outfit as a form of gratitude.
Chopper usually wears stuff that makes him look adorable, but this is different. With this majestic open coat, charming crown, and dazzling jewelry, he looks like royalty, which makes sense when considering everything he did for the island. Some fans believe that Chopper will live as the leader of the Mink Tribe on Zou after One Piece reaches its conclusion, so maybe this outfit offered a small glimpse into his future.
3 Enies Lobby Outfit
A Legendary Outfit With Just One Additional Piece Of Clothing
- Worn In: Enies Lobby Arc
Chopper didn’t really change outfits very often before the timeskip, and when he did, he usually just wore one or two more pieces of clothing over his regular clothes. Fortunately, sometimes that was enough to improve his overall look, just like he did in the epic Enies Lobby Arc.
On his mission to save his beloved friend, Nico Robin, Chopper wore a red jacket on top of his regular outfit, and that was it. However, this new jacket looked incredible on him, because it made him seem stronger and more mature. This appearance ultimately became extremely popular, seeing as Chopper was wearing it during the iconic “I want to live!” Scene and during most of his battle against Kumadori.
2 Raid On Onigashima Outfit
Simple Yet Effective Samurai Amor
- Worn In: Wano Country Arc
Every member of the Straw Hat Pirates had an amazing outfit during the climactic Raid on Onigashima, and Chopper was no exception. He wore bright red samurai armor, complete with a katana and a kabuto helmet, which cleverly made it seem like he had two sets of horns.
Of course, samurai armor was always going to look excellent on Chopper, but the best part about this outfit is how surprisingly versatile it ended up being, since he kept wearing different parts of the armor when he transformed into Kung Fu Point, Monster Point, and even his new Babyjiji form. This appearance made Chopper seem like the respected doctor he is while simultaneously giving him the aura of a powerful and seasoned fighter.
1 Original Outfit
An Absolute Classic With A Lot Of Significance
- Worn In: Drum Island Arc
One Piece characters usually change their looks as the story unfolds, but Tony Tony Chopper is one of the few exceptions, because the original outfit he wore during his introduction in the Drum Island Arc is absolutely perfect and doesn't even need to be improved. With it, he looks friendly and adorable without overdoing like some of his other attires do.
It’s not just about its perfectly balanced design, but it's also about the emotional component of this outfit. These are the clothes that Dr. Hiriluk gave to Chopper when he adopted him, and the iconic pink hat eventually became Chopper’s most important treasure after the doctor's tragic death. And while he obviously kept wearing this accessory throughout the rest of the series, it looked best when combined with his original outfit. On top of all that, this is Chopper’s most recognizable appearance, which is no small feat for such a marketable character.
