One Piece: Characters Oda Has Special Roles For In The Next Arc

The next arc of One Piece is just around the corner, and fans absolutely cannot wait for Egghead to finally wrap up, and the series to head in a new direction. The Egghead Island Arc has proven to be nothing short of absolutely stunning, but it is only the beginning of the Final Saga. The true challenge for Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates in the Final Saga will begin once the next arc, which is likely to be Elbaf, begins, and in this arc, there are certain characters that are going to shine far more than the others.

6 Nico Robin

The Archaeologist Of The Straw Hats

Nico Robin is a member of the Strawhat Pirates and certainly one of the strongest officers that Luffy has under him. Robin is a force to be reckoned with, with her 930 million berry bounty, and a very overpowered Devil Fruit to match. However, it isn't her strength or her skill that is going to give her screen time in the upcoming One Piece arc. The fact that Robin is the key to the One Piece makes sure that Oda has a special role for her later down the line.

This is more true now than ever before because characters such as Saul are waiting for her, and she has many exciting plotlines building that will have a grand payoff soon.

5 Usopp

The Sniper Of The Straw Hats

Usopp has been somewhat underwhelming in the post-timeskip of One Piece, and even though he has had a couple of great moments here and there, he certainly does need attention in Elbaf or the upcoming arcs of One Piece. The Elbaf Arc is specifically going to be great for him, and as things stand, the Straw Hat Pirates are headed there. This means that Usopp is going to get the chance to shine incredibly in the upcoming One Piece arc, and fans absolutely cannot wait for that to happen.

Here, Usopp will finally get to see the land of his masters and learn their way, potentially even becoming a brave warrior of the sea.

4 Shanks

The Chief of the Red Hair Pirates

One of the Four Emperors of the Sea, Shanks is a character that fans have waited to see more of for quite a while now. Oda has saved Shanks for the Final Saga, but even now, he has only shown glimpses of his powers to the fans. Shanks is a monstrously powerful individual, and he recently dismantled Eustass Kid and his crew all by himself.

Still, that is not enough. Fans need to see more of him, and given that Elbaf is his territory, fans know that the upcoming arcs will see him play a major role soon enough. He will soon meet with Luffy, and fans cannot wait to see that happen.

3 Koby

A Marine Captain

Koby is a character that fans might not have expected to see shine in the upcoming arc, but he most certainly will. In the Egghead Island Arc of One Piece, fans could see Koby being highlighted as a key player by Oda when Vegapunk delivered his message. Clearly, Koby is a very important character from the Navy POV, and fans will see more of him later down the line.

Perhaps Koby will have something to do with rallying the good side of the Navy and leading them to a better future, which is something that only he and a few other individuals within the ranks of the Navy can pull off.

2 Boa Hancock

Empress Of The Amazon Lily

Boa Hancock, the Pirate Empress, is yet another character that fans will see more of in the upcoming arcs. As things stand, Boa Hancock has not been focused on much in the Final Saga of One Piece. All fans know is that she cannot stay in Amazon Lily, which means that she must leave the island and head to someplace else.

The natural destination for her would be to wherever Luffy is, and if he heads to Elbaf next, then Hancock will likely make her way to this place as well. Regardless, the fight against the Government will see Hancock being involved in some way or form.

Captain Of The Straw Hat Pirates

Of course, the protagonist of One Piece, Luffy, is going to be very important in the upcoming arc, and Oda will always have the most prestigious roles for him. Luffy is the Sun God Nika, and regardless of where they go, he is going to be taking the spotlight.

This is going to be especially true if the Strawhats head to Elbaf next, given that the tales of Nika actually originate from the Warland. Luffy will uncover many mysteries of the World, and potentially even take another step closer to the One Piece in the upcoming arc.
