Unfortunately, fans will not be getting a new One Piece chapter later this week, since the manga is going to be on break, following Oda's usual break schedule, much to the disappointment of some fans.

Due to Golden Week, One Piece went on a break after Chapter 1147 for two weeks, and finally returned with One Piece Chapter 1148 on May 11, 2025. The break was long and arduous, but the chapter that Oda delivered was worth it. After such an exciting chapter, it is no surprise to know that all the fans had their eyes on the following chapter, One Piece chapter 1149. Unfortunately for the fans, the series is on yet another break, immediately after its return.

One Piece chapter 1149 is not going to be released this week. The reason for this is quite simple. Oda usually has his own break schedule. Oda dropped about 3 chapters, which are then followed by a break. However, One Piece chapter 1149 was special, in the sense they Oda had just returned from the Golden Week break. Many felt that since Oda just returned from a break, he would simply skip the 3-chapter breaks that he takes. Of course, they were wrong. Oda always maintains his break schedule, and very rarely lets a holiday affect his own breaks.
