One Piece is quite a long-running series. After all, it has been ongoing almost continuously for over 28 years now, with still a long way to go. One Piece’s story and art are incredible, and pulling such a brilliant story on a weekly basis certainly comes with its own downsides. The life of a mangaka isn’t easy, and it takes its toll.
One Piece: Monkey D. Luffy Has Officially Been Dethroned As The Strongest Worst Generation Pirate
The Worst Generation's strongest member has been revealed, and it's not Luffy in One Piece.
Eiichiro Oda, the creator of One Piece, has been working relentlessly on the story for almost three decades. It is no secret that Oda has been dealing with some health issues. Fans are especially concerned for him today as the One Piece manga unexpectedly went on break. The reason for the sudden break is confirmed by Jump, and Oda’s health is the main reason that was given to the fans.
One Piece’s Manga Goes On A Sudden Break
Oda's Worsening Health Seems To Be The Cause
The next One Piece chapter, chapter 1162, was highly anticipated by fans. After all, right now in Elbaf, one of the greatest flashbacks of the story is unfolding, featuring legends like Harald, Roger, and most importantly, Rocks D. Xebec. However, this flashback has been constantly interrupted due to breaks. One Piece was finally diving into the events of God Valley, and just when they were hoping to find out the truth of what happened there 38 years ago, a sudden break was announced.
October 5 Will Be A Sad Day For One Piece Anime Fans
October 5 is set to be a terrible start to the month for One Piece fans as the anime heads towards an extended break.
Some bad news has come up as Eiichiro Oda, the beloved creator of One Piece, took a sudden break from the manga. This is unusual, to say the least. Usually, Oda’s breaks are planned, and fans know in advance when to expect them, thanks to Jump. Sudden breaks, on the other hand, point to something more serious, such as health-related issues. Oda might not be in the best of health at the moment.
This has also been confirmed by Shueisha. Oda is not at his best right now. The last time Oda got sick was around November last year, and the One Piece manga also went on a sudden break.
When Will the One Piece Manga Return?
Returns On October 12
The most recent One Piece break was very sudden, and initially, nobody knew when the manga would return. One Piece fans anticipated a long wait, but it’s already been confirmed that the manga will return after one week, on October 12, 2025. Either way, One Piece fans can only wish Oda a speedy recovery and wait for his return.
“To our beloved readers, Thank you very much for always reading One Piece. Due to the author's poor health, One Piece will be on break this issue. We deeply apologize to all readers who were looking forward to it. Also, although this issue’s postcards and contents list show One Piece as being published,
the correction could not be made in time for the printing process. We sincerely apologize once again.
The continuation is scheduled to resume in issue 46 (on sale October 14). We kindly ask for your continued support of One Piece.” — Shonen Jump Editorial Department
