The Reverie is a big council that consists of fifty rulers, and they gather every four years to hold discussions over various issues. The most recent Reverie that took place in Marijoa was quite eventful, as noted by many One Piece characters.
During the Reverie, many things occurred that shook the entire One Piece world. The decisions made in the latest Reverie had far-reaching effects. Given the fact that there were so many incidents, it is easy to overlook one because of another. With that in mind, here are the biggest events that took place in the Reverie.
7 Assault On Charlos
Saint Charlos is one of the most despicable One Piece characters. He is a Celestial Dragon who made his debut in the Sabaody Archipelago arc. Charlos turned up at the Auction House to buy slaves so that he could abuse them. When he shot Hatchi, Luffy knocked him out cold.
During the Reverie, Charlos saw Shirahoshi, and immediately he wanted to enslave her. Shirahoshi was saved by Myosgard, but Charlos wasn't ready to give up. He finally captured her with the help of Bartholomew Kuma. While Charlos was busy celebrating his victory, Leo and Sai appeared out of nowhere and nearly killed him. Unfortunately, Charlos managed to survive, but it was still one of the major talking points of the Reverie.
6 Vivi's Disappearance
Vivi traveled to Marijoa with her father. She was expecting to learn important lessons about how rulers deal with politics. Vivi met princesses from other kingdoms who had met Luffy. They talked about the Straw Hats and immediately formed a connection.
Given her status, Vivi never thought that she would end up being chased by the World Government. Imu wants Vivi, mainly because of her ancestry; after all, she is the descendant of Nefertari D. Lily. Vivi was kidnapped by CP0, but Wapol rescued her before they could hand her over to the Five Elders. The news of her disappearance shocked the entire world.
5 Abolition Of The Shichibukai
The Shichibukai system had been in place for many years, and it had helped the World Government on several occasions. It was made up of some of the most notorious pirates in the world, and they were given the opportunity to work with the World Government. The Shichibukai received certain privileges, which made the position extremely appealing.
Pirates, being pirates, abused their power and did many deplorable things. The World Government tried to turn a blind eye to their actions, but eventually they could not hide them much longer. In the latest Reverie, the rulers who had suffered expressed their disappointment with the Shichibukai. This resulted in the dissolution of the system.
4 Infiltration of The Revolutionary Army
The Revolutionary Army is the biggest nemesis of the World Government. It was formed by Dragon, alongside Ivankov and Bartholomew Kuma. Unfortunately, Kuma was turned into a mindless slave by Vegapunk. So Sabo and the other commanders decided to rescue him.
The Revolutionary Army destroyed the symbol of the Celestial Dragons and the food supplies. They also freed Kuma and the other slaves trapped in Marijoa. Even the Admirals failed to stop them, causing serious outrage among the Celestial Dragons. The news of the Revolutionaries' attack circulated throughout the world and evoked a spirit of rebellion among the people.
3 Myosgard's Execution
Charlos wasn't the only Celestial Dragon who had a tough time during the Reverie. For Donquixote Myosgard, it proved to be his last Reverie. He was the only sensible Celestial Dragon, and he had helped Shirahoshi escape from the clutches of Charlos twice.
Myosgard took the blame for Sai and Leo's attack on Charlos as well, and it did not go down well with the Holy Knights. Myosgard ended up paying for the attack with his life. He was executed by the leader of the Holy Knights for his transgressions against his fellow Celestial Dragon and for defending the Fish-Men.
2 Death of Nefertari Cobra
Nefertari Cobra was the ruler of Alabasta, and he was very popular among the citizens of his country. Cobra came to Marijoa to attend the Reverie and to seek an audience with the Five Elders. During his meeting, Cobra had the misfortune of seeing Imu, which effectively sealed his fate.
Imu revealed that Cobra's ancestor, Lily, had made the blunder of releasing the Poneglyphs into the world. Before dying, Cobra disclosed that the Nefertari family is associated with the D. Clan. However, Cobra could not relay this information to Vivi personally, so he asked Sabo. The Revolutionary Army's chief of staff tried to save Cobra, but the Five Elders and Imu overwhelmed him rather easily. Cobra heroically stepped in and ordered Sabo to escape. Afterward, the World Government manipulated the news and made it seem that Sabo had killed Cobra.
1 The True Ruler of The World
One Piece fans will never forget seeing Imu for the very first time. For the majority of the series, the Five Elders were believed to have the highest authority within the World Government. During the Reverie, they were seen bowing down to Imu, a mysterious individual. This proved that Imu is superior to the Five Elders in terms of authority.
Much about Imu still remains a mystery, but Oda has revealed a handful of details about them. It has been confirmed that Imu belongs to one of the founding families of the World Government. Considering he is immortal, it is very likely that Imu had someone perform the Immortality Surgery on him, giving him perpetual youth.
