One Piece isn’t solely focused on action and battles, but over its 28-year course, it has offered some amazing battles to the fans. Only recently, Eiichiro Oda went on to explore the God Valley Incident in its entirety in the One Piece manga, and it proved to be a battle royale where the strongest of the strongest gathered 38 years ago.

With so many top tiers with amazing Devil Fruits and Haki gathered in one place, a competition of strength broke out and out of all those involved in this incident, the one to stand out on top of them all was Imu, the sovereign of the world. Readers always expected Imu to be strong, but they have beaten all expectations as they easily managed to withstand the might of six overpowered characters without sustaining any damage, and later on, went to take out Rocks D. Xebec. As things stand, it seems impossible to imagine a way in which Luffy and his allies even stand a chance at defeating Imu in the Final Saga.

Imu Is One Piece’s Best Devil Fruit User

Imu is a crucial One Piece character who first made an appearance during the Reverie arc, and has since perplexed all readers of the story. Since the debut of this calamity, the mystery of their Devil Fruit powers and abilities arose, and Oda might have just revealed the answer in One Piece's Elbaf arc, especially in events following Chapter 1163.

Imu was recently revealed to be heavily involved in the events of God Valley, where they made an appearance through Saint Saturn, similarly to what happened on Elbaf with Gunko. With their sudden appearance, Imu proved that they were on a whole other level compared to the likes of Rocks, Roger, Garp, Whitebeard, Kaido, and Big Mom.

When Rocks, Whitebeard, Kaido, Big Mom, Roger, and Garp all launched an attack on Imu, their Devil Fruit powers were too potent for these blows to do anything significant. It must be noted that these characters are some of One Piece’s very strongest—yet Imu tanked their attacks with no issue, and was unscathed thanks, to their regeneration, which stems from their incredible Devil Fruit. There's no character in One Piece who could ever survive such an attack, other than Imu.

Following a showing of their incredible defensive capabilities, Imu even showed the offensive power of their Devil Fruit and took down Rocks by using Domi Reversi on him. Xebec became Imu's demon slave who then followed each and every command of the sovereign of the world. Eventually, Xebec had to be taken down by Garp and Roger.

Imu Devil Fruit Makes Them One Piece's Hardest Character To Defeat

Imu Can Only Be Beaten With A Powerful Alliance

With a star-studded team of characters attacking Imu and not being able to injure them, it certainly raises quite a few worries for Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates. Luffy is nowhere close to the level of all those top tiers combined, and even though he has a strong Devil Fruit himself, its powers are nowhere close to those of Imu's Devil Fruit.

The truth is Imu can’t be taken down in a 1v1 fight, and the Harley in Elbaf hints at that. Luffy will need as many allies as possible to circumvent Imu's Devil Fruit power, and this might even include Blackbeard, who can negate Devil Fruit powers. Luffy with his Nika form, probably has the perfect Devil Fruit to battle Imu’s darkness. It will still be a tough fight, nonetheless, but Luffy has to rise and achieve what Joy Boy failed to do 800 years ago.
