One Piece is the best-selling manga of all time, having dominated every other series in that regard. Not only is One Piece's manga a major hit, but its anime adaptation is also quite popular worldwide. In the anime sphere of things, One Piece has proven itself to be the most pirated anime, but at the same time, it has also showcased that it is incredibly popular on legal streaming services as well. In a recent Netflix reveal, it has now been officially confirmed that One Piece is the most viewed anime on the platform for 2025, beating the likes of Naruto and Demon Slayer in the process.

One Piece Officially Becomes Netflix’s Most Viewed Anime

Recently, Netflix revealed its most-streamed anime series. Fans got a closer look at these numbers via Netflix’s "What We Watched the First Half & Second Half of 2025," which took into account the number of hours each series was viewed. Thanks to that, fans finally get to see which ten anime series are the most viewed on the biggest streaming platform worldwide for the year 2025.

To the surprise of some, the number one most-streamed anime on Netflix was revealed to be none other than Eiichiro Oda's magnum opus, One Piece. One Piece features 643 million hours watched by fans, which is, by far, the highest on the platform.

One Piece Beats The Likes of Demon Slayer and Naruto On The Netflix Platform

With One Piece becoming Netflix's number one most viewed series for 2025, it has beaten two other monumental anime franchises. Notably, One Piece has beaten the likes of Naruto and Demon Slayer, as well as many other anime franchises, like Pokémon. In comparison to One Piece, Naruto was only watched for 626 million hours, and Demon Slayer even less, at 598 million hours.

Naruto and Demon Slayer’s numbers definitely remain impressive, but they're still nowhere close to One Piece's watch time, which goes to show how much this pirate story has grown in popularity.

While One Piece is, of course, a major franchise, it is still surprising to see it dominate on legal streaming platforms like Netflix. There are a few reasons why that is the case. Firstly, One Piece's Netflix library is not complete, meaning that it is not the best platform for watching this series on. Some One Piece arcs are missing there, and that reflects on the watch time.

Furthermore, One Piece is known as the number 1 most pirated anime worldwide. In that sense, most of One Piece's viewership comes from illegal streaming platforms, which definitely takes away from its legal streaming numbers. To see One Piece still dominate in both departments is a showcase of its popularity, both in Japan and worldwide.

Given its growing popularity, One Piece will likely continue to dominate in the coming years as well, and if Netflix were to add the completed anime on the platform, it'll leave all other anime series in the dust.
