This article contains spoilers from One Piece's Elbaf arc.
Saint Imu Nerona is one of the most powerful characters in all of One Piece, and fans have recently been given a good glimpse of their abilities by Oda. When Imu arrived in Elbaf, it was quite clear to see that their strength knew no bounds. But that was only a small glimpse of what they were truly capable of. One Piece's Loki flashback has shed light on Imu's powers more than ever before, and if it wasn't clear already, they're simply invincible, or at least that's what it looks like on the surface. Imu is incredibly overpowered, and there's no denying that. But, Oda has already revealed the two biggest weaknesses of Imu.
Say Hello To The Strongest Ability In All Of One Piece
There are many overpowered abilities in One Piece, but this one stands out as the very strongest.
In fact, Oda has even laid out the exact plan one needs to follow to take down Imu, and all that is right in front of the eyes of the readers. In time, someone will make use of Imu's two biggest weaknesses, and eventually take them down. These two weaknesses were stated specifically in the Loki flashback by Rocks D. Xebec, the man who descended from Davy Jones. According to Rocks D. Xebec, one needs two specific Devil Fruits to tear down the World Government, which means two specific fruits are needed to beat Imu and crush their order.
Rocks Wanted Two Specific Devil Fruits to Beat Imu
The Nika Fruit Hard Counters Imu's Powers
- The Yami Yami no Mi is needed to fight Imu
- The Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika can counter Imu
Rocks's plan, right from the beginning, was to carry out the promise of his ancestor, Davy D. Jones. Being a member of the Davy Clan himself, Rocks was adamant on keeping the promise that Jones made to Imu.
I want two Devil Fruits in particular, and I want Harald to eat one of them. — Rocks to his Pirate Crew
What this promise was isn't known yet, but what fans do know is that Davy Jones wanted to tear down Imu from the top of the world, and that's what Rocks wanted too. When asked about his goal, he clearly stated that he wanted “The World.” In other words, Rocks wanted to crush Imu's World Government, as promised by Davy D. Jones.
When Rocks first met Imu in Marijoa, he didn't fight him, and the reason why is simple. Rocks himself knew he couldn't do anything against Imu, so he left with a warning that he would return when he was ready. Later, Rocks said that he needed two Devil Fruits to fulfill his plan to crush the Government. In other words, Rocks wanted two Devil Fruits to beat Imu. Rocks wanted Harald to eat one of those fruits, and he likely wanted to eat the second one himself.
In his own way, Harald was trying to be Nika himself. — Jarul, Elbaf
One Piece: Oda Has Already Revealed the Only Counter to Imu's Domi Reversi
Imu's Domi Reversi is overpowered, but it has one fatal counter in One Piece.
Connecting all the dots, it is very easy to deduce that Imu's two biggest weaknesses are the two specific Devil Fruits that Rocks wanted to beat him with. The first of these two is most certainly the Nika fruit. This is also likely the fruit that Rocks wanted Harald to eat, given that the legend of the Sun God Nika is tied to Elbaf, and the fact that Jarul confirmed that Harald was trying to be Nika in his own way. With the power of the Nika fruit, one could counter Imu's Domi Reversi and all the abilities that stem from the power of evil, and that's down to the fruit being the antithesis to Imu themself.
The second ability would be the Yami Yami no Mi, the strongest Logia. This fruit is special, as it absorbs the power of the Devil itself. In other words, even Imu cannot fight its powers.
Haki On The Level Of Joy Boy Is Needed
Imu Can Only Be Countered With The Strongest Haki
There is also powerful Haki that is needed to fight Imu, but it needs to be of the highest order. Rocks used his Haki in the battle against Imu, but it didn't work since it wasn't strong enough. But, in Egghead, Joy Boy's Haki clearly worked against the Elders, all of whom derive their powers from Imu. As such, the other thing one would need to beat Imu is the Haki of the highest order.
One Piece's next chapter will be out this week. As usual, One Piece is going to drop on Sunday. In Japan, One Piece drops at 12AM JST on Monday. However, the vast majority of international readers will see the chapter available on November 2. Fans can read the chapter for free on Manga Plus.
