The Straw Hat Grand Fleet is a name for a collective of pirate crews who have vowed to serve Monkey D. Luffy. The Straw Hat Pirates themselves are effectively their leaders. This organization formed around the end of the One Piece anime's Dressrosa Arc. It was made up of a diverse variety of people who formed alliances with the Straw Hat Pirates to take on Donquixote Doflamingo.

The Straw Hat Grand Fleet has some impressive members. Here are the individuals in it with the highest bounties.

The reason for them volunteering to serve the pirates largely has to do with their efforts to rescue them from Doflamingo, although certain members, such as those in the Barto Club, were fans of them beforehand. This coalition attracted a diverse group of people, some of them were established pirates beforehand, others instead decided to dedicate themselves to piracy in an effort to serve Luffy. Here is a look at the various species who make up the collective.

8 Humans

The Majority Of The Crew

Featured Straw Hats Grand Fleet Captains Bartolomew Cavendish

Humans are prevalent characters in One Piece, and, as a result, are implied to make up the majority of the Straw Hat Grand Fleet. The Happo Navy and the Yonta Maria Grand Fleet are the largest crews, with members numbering in the thousands. They are each led by humans, and are thus implied to largely consist of humans in their ranks as well, if only because next to no non-human members have been highlighted in the bigger crews.

Four of the seven representative pirates, namely Cavendish, Bartolomeo, Sai, and Orlumbus, are human. The majority of the Straw Hat Pirates are human as well.

Two Confirmed; More Implied

Tony Tony Chopper was the first non-human member of the Straw Hat Pirates. He was a reindeer who ate the Hito Hito no Mi and gained human intelligence. This allows him to be a valuable asset to his allies, as he used this intelligence to become a doctor. He is also able to transform into a variety of forms suited for combat.

Farul is a horse, who was a longtime pet of Cavendish and serves as his battle-ready steed. He is a member of the Beautiful Pirates, a crew made up largely of Cavendish's admirers from the Bourgeois Kingdom. Despite not being as humanized as Chopper, he can still perform deeds like drinking from a cup of tea, even with no fingers to speak of.

The Tontatta Corps also employ various species, namely insects from Green Bit, to serve as steeds. However, this was largely seen prior to their becoming pirates, and the extent to which they use them now as a roaming crew is unclear.

6 A Cyborg

Or Two, Depending On Your Point Of View

Cyborgs are surprisingly common in the One Piece universe, with many characters who act as combatants replacing their limbs with machinery. Some of these cyborgs weren't even originally human, such as Nekomamushi, a guardian mink who replaced his arm with a prosthetic gun.

There are many powerful Cyborgs in the One Piece world, and here are the strongest.

By

Despite how relatively common they are, only one has been confirmed as a member of the Fleet, and he is also a member of the direct crew. This pirate is Franky, a cyborg who continually augmented himself as parts of his human body became damaged. He uses cola as a fuel source, installing a mini fridge in his body that can handle up to six liters of the soft drink. Longtime Straw Hat crewmate Sanji was also revealed to be something of a cyborg, possessing an exoskeleton and various cybernetic enhancements due to Judge's tampering with his children before their birth.

5 A Longarm

One Of The Representatives, No Less

Ideo one piece anime

The Longarm Tribe are essentially humans with double-jointed elbows. This distinction causes them to be viewed as valuable by traffickers, and Big Mom procreated with a member of the tribe as part of her drive to create a family consisting of every race in the world.

The sole member of the Longarm Tribe to join the Grand Fleet is Ideo, a skilled martial artist. Ideo tends to literally pull his punches, putting his extra joint past his shoulders, turning his extra range into a last resort. He is the captain of the Ideo Pirates, the smallest crew in the fleet, with only four members.

4 A Longleg

Ideo's Crewmate

Blue Gilly One Piece

The Longleg Tribe is mostly similar to the Longarm Tribe, with the key difference being spelled out in the name. They are similarly valued by traffickers and Big Mom, who also procreated with a member of this tribe. Members of this tribe tend to enjoy showing off their long legs, as well as tattooing them on occasion. They tend to be less represented in the series overall, with the only named one not affiliated with the Big Mom Pirates serving as a part of the Straw Grand Fleet.

Blue Gilly is a capable martial artist from the Longleg Tribe, who decided to travel alongside Ideo after Dressrosa. His other two crewmates are a pair of ruthless human ex-bounty hunters named Abdullah and Jeet. It is shown that at least certain pockets of Longlegs and Longarms do not get along, as the four beat up a number of them involved in a generational quarrel. Despite this, it is implied some are capable of having deeper relationships, as a rare hybrid race called "Longlimbs" is confirmed to exist.

3 Dwarves

The Second Most Represented Group In The Fleet

Tontatta Pirates Cropped

Dwarves in the One Piece series make humans look like giants. Despite this, they are extremely powerful, capable of bludgeoning enemies and destroying buildings. They are thus far only confirmed to inhabit the island of Green Bit, and serve as allies to the Kingdom of Dressrosa. They are shown to be somewhat gullible.

The Tontatta Pirates are a rebranding of the Tontatta Corps, and consist entirely of Dwarves. Their Captain, Leo, a charismatic and battle-ready Dwarf who is said to be stronger than the rest. He is one of roughly 200 members of the crew. This makes Dwarves effectively make up the majority of non-human members of the fleet.

2 Giants

Poached From Buggy's Delivery

One Piece Giants

Giants are a frequently identified race in One Piece. They were first seen at Little Garden, where Luffy and friends eventually saved a pair of them from being poached by Baroque Works. These two giants were co-captains of Elbaf's Giant Warrior Pirates.

Only one giant was shown at Dressrosa. He was named Hajrudin, he wore a helmet and gauntlets. This giant at first sought to eat the Mera Mera no Mi, believing its power would further augment his impressive strength. Despite his arrogance, he proved his loyalty, and held up Usopp, showing the crowd the man who saved them from being slave toys.

The world's strongest race has yielded some fearsome warriors over the years. Here are the most powerful ones among them.

He was initially an S-Class mercenary under Buggy's Delivery, which was effectively a government-endorsed mercenary organization at the time. However, Hajrudin convinced the other four giants operating within the organization to leave. They formed the New Giant Warrior Pirates, introduced as a successor to the recently revived Giant Warrior Pirates. Despite their relatively small numbers, this powerful race is the third most represented among the fleet.

1 A Fish-Man

A Long Time Coming

Jinbe and Luffy Reunited In Wano In One Piece

Fish-Men are seen throughout the series, especially after the time skip. They are humanoid creatures with varying fish-like characteristics. They tend to coexist and overlap with mermen and mermaids, and the species they take after is not fully determined by lineage. They are physically stronger than humans on land and even more so underwater. The first Fish-Men encountered were the antagonistic Arlong Pirates. These Fish-Men are hateful towards humans, as a mirror image of a greater oppression humans have inflicted upon them. However, it is later shown this ideal is not reflected among the majority of their kind.

Jimbei is a whaleshark Fish-Man who seeks to break down barriers between humans and his kind. He was an imprisoned Warlord who befriended Luffy during the Impel Down Arc, when the pair met during the young pirate's effort to conduct a prison break. After the battle at Fish-Man Island, he expressed a desire to join the Straw Hat Pirates, but wished to resolve a few other issues first. He eventually made good on his word, joining the crew as their helmsman at Wano.
