One Piece 1139 is just around the corner, and is set to drop officially very soon. However, it has been confirmed that this chapter, which will come as the last one in a 4 chapter batch from Oda, will be shorter than usual.

Usually, One Piece chapters are about 17 pages long, as that is pretty standard. One Piece Chapter 1139, on the other hand, is only 13 pages long, making it 5 pages shorter than the average chapter.

Nevertheless, the chapter will definitely be interesting to check out, as the Elbaf arc of One Piece has been a blast.

When Will One Piece 1139 Come Out?

One Piece chapter 1139 will be coming out in a few days. As usual, it will be dropping on Sunday, and especially for One Piece 1139, the release date is set to be 9th February 2025.

After One Piece 1139, the manga will go on a break. That break will last one week, before the manga resumes in Weekly Shonen Jump two weeks after. One Piece is expected to return with Chapter 1140 on February 23, 2025.

Why is One Piece 1139 Shorter?

One Piece 1139 Reportedly A Very Short Chapter

There isn’t exactly any specific reason why One Piece 1139 is shorter than usual. One can, however, guess it has to do with Eiichiro Oda being overworked. Dropping 4 chapters in a row is not something he does these days anymore, even though it used to be the norm a few years ago.

Now, Oda usually takes a break between every 2 to 3 chapters, so doing 4 must’ve been more exhausting, leading to him making the chapter a bit shorter.

Drawing and writing One Piece is no easy job. Being a mangaka is very time-consuming, and exhausting, especially because One Piece has been in serialization for almost 3 decades now, so Oda definitely deserves the occasional break he takes between chapters.

Fans who are interested in One Piece can read the chapters on Manga Plus or Viz Media.
