One Piece's return late last month has seen the manga jump right into one of its most interesting phases as the story hurtles towards the end. With the manga now officially in its final saga, fans are expecting the Wano Country arc to wrap up soon after having delivered some massive lore reveals over the course of the past few chapters. At the same time, Oda is certainly doing his absolute best to set the basis for the next island that the Straw Hat Pirates are going to visit once their adventure in the land of Wano wraps up.
One Piece 1055 saw Admiral Green Bull finally leave Wano Country, thanks to Shanks' intimidation, along with some major reveals about Wano Country's past being made, which further tied to the Ancient Weapon Pluton. In One Piece 1056, fans expect things to go in a different direction now that the majority of the lore about Wano's past has already been covered. The next chapter is likely to set a foundation for what's to come.
One Piece 1056: The Shichibukai's Fate
The abolition of the Shichibukai system has been one of the biggest events to take place in the current age of the One Piece world, yet very little is known about what ended up happening to them. All the remaining members of the Shichibukai are, in one way or another, very important to the plot of the final arc. Buggy has already been promoted to the position of Yonko, as confirmed in One Piece 1052. That said, the fate of the likes of Hancock, Mihawk, and Edward Weevil remains unknown at the moment and One Piece 1056 could very well give the fans more information on their fates.
Eiichiro Oda is known to have his fun with certain chapter numbers, such as chapter 100 depicting Luffy declaring his dream to become the Pirate King before entering the Grand Line and chapter 1000 showing him do the very same thing right to Yonko Kaido's face. Similarly, chapter 931 saw Sanji use the Raid Suit for the very first time, and exactly 100 chapters later in 1031, destroy it to beautifully cap off his internal struggle with Germa. In One Piece 956, fans got to see massive news from all across the world break, including the abolition of the Shichibukai. Oda could very well reveal their fate in the next chapter of the story. While Mihawk is likely to be safe, the fate of Hancock and Weevil is certainly going to be intriguing.
One Piece 1056: The New Bounties Of The Crew
One Piece chapter 1056 could also very well see the bounties of the rest of the Straw Hat Pirates finally get revealed. So far, just the bounties of Luffy, Law, Kid, and Buggy have been revealed in the story and before the crew heads out of Wano, it is a given for their figures to finally be made public as well. After having defeated the Beasts Pirates, it is a given for their bounties to get very high. The likes of Zoro, Sanji, Robin, Jinbe, and even Usopp could end up having massive bounties while the case of Yamato will continue to remain intriguing, as he hasn't officially joined the pirate crew just yet. Furthermore, the bounties of the Shichibukai were also getting re-evaluated in One Piece 956, meaning if the upcoming chapter focuses on them, it is highly likely for their new rewards to make their way into it as well.
At the same time, One Piece 1056 could also give fans some insight on the Revolutionary Army and their members who declared war on the World Government since all of them, especially Sabo, were key to chapter 956. As such, Flame Emperor Sabo's bounty could very well make its way to the next chapter of the story. Interestingly enough, "56" is something that's often associated with Luffy as well, as seen all across the series, meaning One Piece 1056 could very well include some interesting bits about Luffy as well. The chapter could potentially have interesting bits of information about his Devil Fruit. It is also possible that fans will get to see how growing influence in the world and get the reactions of his many close friends and family members at the same time. All things considered, One Piece 1056 is all set to be an incredible chapter, just like the previous two, and potentially an even better one, given the importance of the chapter number.
