Once Human features a variety of dangerous Rift Entities that players will encounter, each with varying levels of difficulty. After defeating enemies like the Ravenous Hunter and the Shadow Hound, players can focus on the next Monolith, which houses The Forsaken Giant.

The Forsaken Giant is a level 60 Rift Entity found at the Forsaken Monolith in the Red Sands region, which can be accessed after activating enough Rift Anchors in the area. While earlier bosses might have been relatively easy to defeat, The Forsaken Giant is one of the toughest challenges players will face. Here’s how to take it down.

Once Human: Status Damage, Explained

Status Damage plays an important part in Once Human's buildcrafting. Here are some important things players need to know about it.

The Forsaken Giant Phase 1 Walkthrough

Screenshot showcasing the start of The Forsaken Giant boss fight in Once Human

The first phase of The Forsaken Giant boss fight will have players facing off against the ginormous boss, targeting specific areas that glow red during its movements and attacks, all while avoiding some pretty heavy-hitting blows dealt by the boss. While you can deal damage by shooting any area of the boss's body, any potential damage will be significantly reduced, meaning that players should just focus fire on the glowing points when exposed.

Here is a breakdown of all The Forsaken Giant's moves for the first phase of this fight:

Slam Attack - Move Away From The Area & Jump Over The Resulting Shockwave

The first attack involves a slam, where the Forsaken Giant will raise either his right or left fist and slam it down toward the player, causing a shockwave to spread across the arena. This attack is easy to anticipate because the weak points on his left or right shoulder will glow red, signaling which direction the attack will come from. When you see either weak spot glow red, move in the opposite direction to avoid the slam, and then jump over the shockwave to prevent further damage. After this, you’ll have a brief window to shoot at the glowing weak points on the boss's shoulder, so make sure to get a few shots in.

While the shockwave's AoE can be avoided with a standard jump, using a double jump makes it much easier. This is where food items like Stardust Energy Drink prove useful, as they grant the ability to double jump for 30 minutes. These drinks can be crafted via an Electric Stove if players have Stardust to spare.

Sweep Attack - Run To The Far Side Of The Arena

The second most common attack is a sweeping move, where The Forsaken Giant sweeps either its right or left arm across the arena. Like the previous attack, players can anticipate this by watching for the boss's hands to glow red, signaling the direction of the coming attack. Once you see the red glow, quickly run to the far opposite side of the arena, passing the flowers on either platform to stay safe. From this position, you can fire at the hand as it sweeps across, targeting the glowing point to deal significant damage.

The Forsaken Giant's Tears - Target The Boss's Head For Critical Damage

This next move is less of an attack and more of an opening for players to dish out some serious damage. During this move, The Forsaken Giant will begin to cry as its head glows red, and its tears will spawn both Gnawers and items called Handling Giant Flower Buds. While players can dish out some consistent critical hits by focusing fire on the glowing points of the boss's head, the fact that its hands cover its face can make it a little difficult to do so. This is where the Handling Giant Flower Buds come in, as throwing them at the boss during these stages can sometimes stun it, exposing the weak point fully for you to damage.

The Forsaken Giant's Vomiting - Stun The Boss & Target Its Stomach

Much like the previous move, this attack gives players a chance to deal significant damage. During this move, The Forsaken Giant's weak point on its stomach will glow red, and the boss will start vomiting projectiles, which spawn additional Gnawers and Handling Giant Flower Buds. Unfortunately, unlike the previous moveset, you won't be able to hit the boss's weak point directly, as it's shielded by the boss's arms. However, using the Handling Giant Flower Buds to stun the boss can help. Throwing them at the boss's stomach can stun it, exposing the weak spot and allowing you to land some consistent critical hits.

Warning! The Forsaken Giant Is About To Destroy The Battlefield

Once The Forsaken Giant's health drops by almost a third, the boss will summon an Arbiter, Gnawers, and several Starspawn. To manage the added pressure of multiple enemies, try summoning a Combat Deviation like the Lonewolf’s Whisper to keep these enemies occupied while you focus on the boss. During this phase, The Forsaken Giant will also try to destroy the battlefield. The boss will teleport away from the arena, and the player will start glowing red, signaling the charging of an incoming attack.

The key here is to stand on each platform and let the boss strike all three sides of the arena once. The boss will attack three times, with each platform only withstanding two hits before breaking on the third. By spreading the damage across the platforms, you ensure that no platform breaks during The Forsaken Giant's second attempt to destroy the battlefield.

The Forsaken Giant Phase 2 Walkthrough

After The Forsaken Giant attempts to destroy the battlefield, the second phase begins. This phase is mostly similar to the first, with the boss using the same attacks as before. However, this time, you'll face the added pressure of dealing with the enemies summoned earlier. Additionally, the boss introduces a new move in this phase, which can be particularly challenging to manage.

Range Attack - Avoid The Homing Projectiles & Stay Clear Of The Charged Ranged Attack

This new attack begins when the weak spot on the boss's chest starts glowing red. Here, you'll need to dodge a series of homing projectiles coming from both the left and right. Instead of running in a straight line, move in a circular pattern to evade them. At the same time, the boss will also charge an explosive ranged attack, which can be avoided by quickly moving away from your previous position. Be sure to focus fire on the boss's exposed red weak spot during the initial charge-up time for the attack to deal consistent critical damage.

Warning! The Forsaken Giant Is About To Destroy The Battlefield (Again)

Much like in the first phase of the boss fight, The Forsaken Giant will attempt to destroy the arena a second time once nearly two-thirds of its health is depleted. This move is identical to the first attempt, where the boss spawns the same deadly entities, teleports away, and charges up a slam attack for a total of three tries.

The key is to trick the boss into attacking each platform once by staying on each one and then moving to the next. If the damage is spread out between the platforms, they should all remain intact.

The Forsaken Giant Phase 3 Walkthrough

After the Forsaken Giant's second attempt to destroy the battlefield, the third and final stage will commence. Again, much like the second phase, many of the previous move sets will be carried over, each of which can be dealt with using all the methods previously mentioned. However, there are two new attacks that the boss will use, both of which take the form of AoE attacks.

Red Geyser AoE Attack - Keep Moving & Focus Fire On The Boss's Head

The first AoE attack will begin when the boss's head glows red, and it begins to hit itself. At this point, multiple red geyser-like areas of effect will appear in the arena, each dealing damage over time. The key is to keep moving, avoid each area of effect, and focus on firing at the boss's head to deal critical damage.

Large Sweeping AoE Attack - Run To The Edge Of The Platform To Avoid Damage

The second attack begins when The Forsaken Giant looms over the platform. During this time, run towards the boss and stand at the edge of the arena, as the boss will sweep both of its arms across the entire platform. Unlike other attacks, no significant damage can be dealt to the boss during this phase.

The Forsaken Giant Rewards

The Forsaken Giant is without a doubt the toughest boss fight in Once Human, but beating it does offer some great rewards. The first is the Nutcracker Deviation, which players will have a chance to secure. Beating The Forsaken Giant also yields additional rewards via its remains, and if players use a Controller to get the max gain of the remains, they can get the following items:
