The new mainline PvE scenario for Once Human has officially started rolling out across the game's servers, offering players a greatly expanded survival experience. Way of Winter one-ups the previous Manibus scenario with some new mechanics and enough content to keep things feeling fresh.
There's a lot to unpack in the Way of Winter scenario. Unlike Once Human's Prismverse's Clash, this scenario has a stronger focus on storytelling and PvE encounters, and it brings with it new enemies to fight, locations to explore, and gear to play around with. Here's what you need to know about Way of Winter.
Once Human: Is Crystal Transformation Worth It?
Crystal Transformation is a convenient way to get crafting materials in Once Human, but it's far from the best option available to players.
Once Human: Way of Winter - New Map Region And Enemies
This scenario opens up the northern reaches of Nalcott Island, which is far less forgiving than the lands down south. Here, players get to explore tundras, fjords, and snow mountains, all under the pretext of a new storyline revolving around the hostile Vultures faction. Players can also find a variety of new hostile Deviations all over the map, including Shadow variants that are immune to damage.
Way of Winter takes place exclusively in this northern region, which means popular spots like Brookham in Once Human won't be accessible. Northern Nalcott will instead have its own Strongholds and dungeons.
Temperature Mechanic In Once Human: Way of Winter
A survival game set in frigid environments isn't complete without a temperature mechanic. This time around, players will have to worry about keeping themselves warm on top of maintaining their nutrition and sanity. Dynamic weather is also a thing in Way of Winter, and it can drastically affect how cold things can get.
Warm clothes and good food will help stave off the cold, and players can also build Thermal Towers to provide heat over a large area. They also serve as focal points for base defense scenarios. Work together with other players to build and keep Thermal Towers safe!
New Weapons and Armor in Way of Winter
Players now have access to the M416. It has the fastest fire rate among all the assault rifles, but it also has the lowest damage value per shot. Way of Winter brings with it three variants of the M416 as well as new versions of the ACS12 shotgun and MG4 LMG:
|

Effect(s) |
|---|---|
|
M416 - Scorched Earth (Fine) |

As usual, Legendary blueprints can only be obtained via the Wish Machine, and you'll need to spend Starchrom in Once Human to either get them from the Wish gacha or purchase the blueprints directly.

Way of Winter added two new Legendary Armor sets and two Key Armor pieces:
