Once Human becomes progressively tougher as you level up and explore new regions. As the challenges ramp up, you need more efficient tools to keep pace. The Solar Drill is one such tool that makes mining significantly easier. It is a highly efficient drill that is powered entirely by solar energy, meaning it never needs to be repaired or refueled.
Getting your hands on the Solar Drill is a bit tricky, but this guide will walk you through the process step-by-step, making it easy to unlock its power.
Once Human: DE.50 - Wildfire Weapon Guide
Here’s everything you need to know about the DE.50 Wildfire pistol in Once Human.
How To Get The Solar Drill In Once Human
The Solar Drill falls under the Memetic Specialization category in Once Human, which heavily relies on RNG. As such, unlocking the Solar Drill is largely a matter of chance. Every five levels, you get a chance to unlock a new Memetic Specialization. Once you’re around Level 30 to 35, you’ll most likely be able to unlock the Solar Drill recipe.
You can also use a Specialization Cleaner to reset your chosen Specialization and select a new one. However, the replacement Specializations are still randomly determined, making this a gamble. As such, you may have to try multiple times before you get the Solar Drill Specialization.
How to Craft The Solar Drill
After you have unlocked the Solar Drill Specialization, you can craft it at an Intermediate or Advanced Supplies Workbench. It only takes 60 seconds to craft. There are three different recipes for the Solar Drill, each affecting its percentage yield:
|
Recipe |
Materials Required |
Percent Yield |
|---|---|---|
|
Using Aluminum Ingots |
|
+15% yield |
|
Using Tungsten Ingots |
|
+25% yield |
|
Using Gold Ore |
|
+40% yield |
You can craft a Storage Battery in Once Human using 15 Steel Ingots, 20 Rubber, 20 Acid, and 10 Electronic Parts.
How to Use The Solar Drill In Once Human
Just like any other tool, you can drag the Solar Drill from your inventory to an empty slot in your action bar. Next, approach any mining node and activate the Solar Drill to automatically extract resources from the nearby ore.
The Solar Drill can mine entire Aluminum and Tungsten nodes in seconds, significantly speeding up resource gathering. Depending on the formula used during crafting, the Solar Drill can boost yields of Copper, Tin, Iron, Aluminum, and Tungsten ores by 15%, 25%, or even 40%.
As the name suggests, the Solar Drill harnesses solar energy to operate, making it virtually indestructible. However, it’s crucial to manage its power levels, especially in the nighttime. Letting the Solar Drill's durability reach can destroy it. To prevent this from happening, recharge the Solar Drill before its battery runs out by storing it in your hotbar during sunlight hours.
