Once Human’s The Way of Winter update added tons of new content to the game, including temperature mechanics, new locations and settlements, and more deviants to catch. There have been some changes to the Crafting side of the game as well. One of the new materials you’ll notice during your crafting sessions is Leftovers. Read on to learn what these materials are used for and how you can get more Leftovers in Once Human.
Once Human: Best Memetics To Unlock First
Once Human players should prioritize getting the following memetics first to help their character's progression.
How To Get Leftovers in Once Human
Leftovers are essentially leather scraps that can be used for repairing armor in Once Human. They are a new type of crafting material that was specifically introduced in The Way of Winter scenario.
While it’s possible to find Leftovers when raiding hostile settlements, a more reliable and efficient method is to craft them at the Supplies Workbench. Before you can craft Leftovers in Once Human, you need to unlock the Leatherworking skill via the Crafting Memetics menu.
Once you've learned the Leatherworking skill, you can craft Leftovers using the various Rawhides you obtain from skinning animals. Any animal will do, so hunt down whichever you can and make sure to collect its hide.
The amount of Leftovers you get from a hide depends on the animal it came from. For example:
- One Rawhide will give you two Leftovers.
- A Wolf Skin will yield three Leftovers.
- Cowhide, Crocodile Skin, and Bear Skin will give four Leftovers each.
Alternatively, you can get Leftovers by disassembling unwanted armor pieces on a Disassembly Bench. If you've been exploring Strongholds and areas with Armor Crates, you’ll probably have a stockpile of unused gear that you can scrap for Leftovers.
How To Use Leftovers in Once Human
Leftovers are mainly used to repair damaged armor. As you battle your way through the hordes of monsters and undergo extreme weather conditions, your armor will inevitably wear down and break.
All armor repairs are done on the Gear Workbench, so make sure you have one on your base in Once Human. Open the workbench and navigate to the Repair tab. Next, select the damaged armor pieces and see how many Leftovers you need. Once you have the required Leftovers, simply repair your damaged armor.
Armor plays a huge role in protecting your character from various dangers, especially those biting weather conditions in The Way of Winter scenario. As such, it's always a good idea to have a decent supply of Leftovers on hand so you can maintain your armor's durability throughout your adventures.
