How to Craft All Pickaxes in Once Human

The post-apocalyptic world in Once Human is filled with valuable resources like ores, wood, and stone, that you can use to craft everything from weapons and armor to shelter and tools. One of the most important tools you’ll need to gather resources is a Pickaxe. As you progress through Once Human, you'll unlock different types of pickaxes, each with increasing gathering efficiency.

Upgrading your pickaxe allows you to gather resources faster and sometimes, you’ll need a specific type of pickaxe to mine certain resources. There are six different types of Pickaxes in Once Human. Each of them has increased efficiency over the previous one, allowing you to chop wood and mine ore faster. Read on to learn how you can craft all the Pickaxes in Once Human.

Crude Pickaxe

This is the most basic type of pickaxe you’ll get. It is made of stone and is generally used to mine Sulfur and Copper Ore. To craft a Crude Pickaxe, you’ll need:

5 Logs
10 Gravel

Since it’s a basic tool, you can craft the Crude Pickaxe with your bare hands at the Campsite.

Copper Pickaxe

A Copper Pickaxe is stronger than the basic one and can mine Tin and Silver Ore. To craft a Copper Pickaxe, you’ll need:

5 Logs
7 Copper Ingots
2 Hides

Once you have the necessary materials, you can craft the Copper Pickaxe at the Supplies Workbench.

Bronze Pickaxe

You will need a Bronze Pickaxe to mine Iron and Stardust Ore. To craft one you’ll need to unlock the Bronze Crafting Memetic and collect the following materials:

5 Logs
7 Bronze Ingots
1 Hide

With the materials in hand, head to a Supplies Workbench to craft the Bronze Pickaxe.

Steel Pickaxe

Once you learn how to craft steel ingots in Once Human, you can unlock the Steel Pickaxe. This version of the pickaxe is strong enough to mine Aluminum and Iron Ore. You will need the following materials:

10 Steel Ingots
3 Rawhide

After you have collected the required materials, you can craft the Steel Pickaxe at the Intermediate Supplies Workbench.

Alloy Pickaxe

The Alloy Pickaxe unlocks after you learn how to craft Aluminum ingots. It has greater mining strength than the rest and is required to mine Tungsten Ore. To craft an Alloy Pickaxe, you’ll need:

10 Aluminum Ingots
7 Steel Ingots
3 Rawhide

You can craft an Alloy Pickaxe at an Intermediate or Advanced Supplies Workbench.

Tungsten Alloy Pickaxe

The Tungsten Alloy Pickaxe is the strongest pickaxe in Once Human. It unlocks when you learn how to craft Tungsten Ingots and is needed to mine Gold Ore. The following materials are needed to craft a Tungsten Alloy Pickaxe:

10 Tungsten Ingots
7 Steel Ingots
3 Rawhide

With the materials in hand, head to an Advanced Workbench to craft the Tungsten Alloy Pickaxe.

All pickaxes have a Durability meter that depletes with use. Once broken, it is lost permanently as pickaxes cannot be repaired, and you're left with no option but to craft a new one each time.
