In order to get started, players need to first choose a starting word. Players should choose a starting word that follows all the rules of Wordle.

Wordle answers must be a real English word and five letters long.
Answers are never proper nouns.
They cannot be plural nouns ending in S, though these can be used as guesses.
Wordle answers have never been duplicated.
They can contain duplicated letters.
Words cannot be slurs or offensive words.

Once players have chosen a good five-letter starting word, type it into the site and press enter. The colors of each of the letters will change:

Gray letters are wrong.
Green letters are right and in the right place in the word.
Yellow letters are right but in the wrong place in the word.

Players need to use these clues to come up with a new word to try; type the new one in and hit enter to get even more clues to the answer. Players get a total of six tries to get to the answer before they lose. There is only one puzzle a day; players can find the time until the new puzzle resets on the Wordle menu.
