How to Stage Francois Motierre's Death in the Assassinated Man Quest

Players can start the Assassinated Man quest after completing the Scheduled for Execution contract by Vincente Valtieri in Oblivion Remastered. After accepting the new contract, players will need to meet Motierre at his house in Chorrol. You'll receive a special weapon coated in poison for this mission called "Languorwine Bade," and a bottle of antidote.

After arriving at the house, you'll need to lockpick his door, so make sure you have some beforehand. Inside, a petrified Francois, who's waiting for the assassin Hides-His-Heart to knock on his door any minute. Simply equip the blade and wait for the right opportunity.

Once the Argonian assassin walks in to talk to Francois, jump in and stab him with the special blade. After the quest update, quickly run out of the house and exit Chorrol. Once the coast is clear, you'll need to wait 24 hours for Francois' body to be transported to the Undercroft in the Chapel of Stendarr.

Reviving Francois Motierre and Helping Him Escape

Arrive at the Chapel and find Francois' body in the Undercroft, lying on a cold slab of stone. Quickly administer the potion to him, and he'll spring back to life. Before you go, however, you'll need to take care of some headless zombies in the area.

Once the area is clear of any enemies, escort Francois Motierre out of the Chapel and to the Gray Mare Inn. Here, Francois will thank you for coming through on the contract. Now players can head back to the Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary, where they can talk to Vicete to receive the Sanctuary Well Key (a shortcut to exit in and out of the area) and the Cruelty's Heart Amulet. Players will also progress to the Eliminator rank. This will mark the Assassinated Man quest as complete in Oblivion Remastered.
