Oblivion Remastered features several houses and rooms for the player to purchase or rent across major cities and roadside inns. The Deepscorn Hollow is one of the more memorable hideouts that was a part of the Vile Lair DLC in the original release, and returns in the remastered. It's the perfect lair for players with infamy to rest up, stock up on rare alchemy resources, quench their vampiric thirst, and get some exclusive gear. Here's how players can acquire this location.

How to Start the Vile Lair DLC in Oblivion Remastered

Players can start the Vile Lair DLC in Oblivion Remastered by traveling to the Deepscorn Hollow. It's a location on the southernmost part of the map, southeast of Leyawiin on the shore. After players reach the location, they'll receive a that a quest has started that involves locating the entrance to an underground lair.

Dive into the water at the specific location marked in the image above, and swim down until you see a large hollow tree trunk. Swim further down until you see a door inside the trunk that you can use to access the Deepscorn Hollow hideout.

Players will need to restore the Deepscorn Hollow hideout back to its original condition before making use of all its facilities.

Deepscorn Hollow Exploration Guide

Deepscorn Hollow is a perfect hideout for a player high Infamy, or the ones who have turned themselves into a Vampire in Oblivion Remastered. The lair has everything you need to prepare for any nefarious activities ahead.

After entering the lair, you'll find a garden under a large tree that has several poisonous plants to tend to all your potion-crafting needs. Venturing into the Deepscorn Cloister, you can head left to find some Purgeblood Salts and use them to cure Vampirism in the Font of Renewal. The path forward will lead to the Cattle Cell, where players inflicted with Vampirism can feed on a prisoner inside.

Heading right will take players into the Deepscorn Bastion, where they'll meet a Dark Minion. You can send it out to kill in the name of Sithis, which has a chance of raising your infamy. There's also a Sleeping Coffin where you can sleep to fully role-play as a Vampire.

Before doing anything, make sure to collect two pieces of powerful gear that come with the Vile Lair DLC in Oblivion Remastered. The first can be found in the Deepscorn Baston next to the Sleeping Coffin, named the "Raiment of the Crimson Scar" armor piece. The second item is a weapon called the "Crimson Eviscerator," that can be found in the Deepscorn Shrine, inside an Unusual Box atop the altar.
